Please don't forget to title your images. Images without titles will not appear in the winner's poll at the end of the assignment.

Hey, if we want Fred Miranda WA, it's already there. No way we are going to beat those guys at their own game. We gotta be us!

Unless the chaff posts are deleted, I don't see how this is going to work.

Lots of posts but not so many valid pics:

Valid by date if not title

#5 & #6 (assuming Ginette's pics were after or on Apr 30th and not before.)
#8 (assuming dizave's pic was after or on Apr 30th and not before.)
#13 (the first 'valid' pic that actually has a date stamp)
#16 (no title and no time stamp)
    #17 (the 2nd with a valid timestamp)
#18 (Dirtdog with another dated valid entry)
#23 (dizave with 2 dated pics)
#26 (Ian's dated pic but comment intead of title "Matihilda Avenue")
#27 (Dirtdog but no title and no embedded date)
#28 ((Ian's dated pic but comment intead of title "Clock")

*note: Ian's pics have titles but they are bloody tiny.

    Old
    #4
    #9
    #12 (04/26)
#14 (not just one but 2 old pics)

Know what you're saying, charles, but I'm with the others. Loose and informal is fine by me, as long as Fishie doesn't get bent out of shape. This is his playpen, so I'll abide by whatever rules he wants. I just like the overall informality and friendliness of the site, and would rather bend a few 'rules' than damage that comraderie. It's what sets this site apart, IMHO.

Maybe we should make sure folks clearly identify their old shots as such, so they don't get roped into the winner's poll by mistake?

But thanks for the solution to the problem Fish had, which is how to label a photo in a poll if the photo doesn't have a label.

Easy. Just use the post number, Fishie. Easy as sin. :D

So his rules for the assignments are that we should take a pic based on the theme, not go rumage into our past years or even past week's archives. I tend to think that requiring him to "get bent out of shape" as a prereq to following his rule is not fair to Fish or to the folks who want to do the assignments and interact with others who are doing the assignments.

For crying out loud the assignment threads are only 2 each week, folks can be free and easy as can be other threads!

The weekly thing is a really cool idea and we can all make it work.

I like this one a lot. It reminds me of the shots of the coal towns in Wales with their row houses. Nice effect.

There are many old buildings in Birmingham. This one is not currently occupied. This is a vertical panorama and a lot of PhotoShop. It is very gray day today but I am sticking by the rules.

I like both of these -especially the first one. Nice black and white conversion - clean whites, nice grey scale, deep blacks. Well done!

Thank you, sir. I just went back and added a frame to the lighthouse, because the dark sky ended up just about the same shade as the forum background. Red filters rock! 1drink.gif

I live near this insanely neon colored soccer complex and it's the first thing I thought of when I read the assignment this week:

    Pillars:

I honestly didn't touch the saturation on any of these. Here's my personal favorite:

Oh yeah...that's terrific. I love those colors with the sky background. That would make a very nice art print. It could be a painting.
