    what's the size going to be if we're at a hotel vs. your studio? Just curious!

    With the current amount of participants my studio will be fine.
    Hotel offers two choices of rooms for larger crowds: one is suitable for 6..8 ppl and one larger for 10+..
    And yes, alcohol offer stays:-) mwink.gif

    Actually having it in my studio is even better since you'll see all the real life scenarios as opposed to a bit "sterile" hotel meeting/ball room...
    But we'll be good either way.

    Update: as a recent development, we'll have a chance to shoot at a private party of Miss California International 2009 on Saturday night! wings.gif This will the skills we'll learn that very day to a very serious test. mwink.gifdeal.gif

    Can you tell us more about the Miss California International 2009 on Saturday night like time and place.
    As I was going to drive up each day I need to make plans

    Sure... It's party in a local Country Club, where we will be welcome to shoot candids and portraits. It starts at 5pm and ends about 8 or 9pm. There will be dinner too:-) I will drive you guys to and from. We'll finish the studio part around 4pm-odd, that should give us time to say goodbuy to our lovely model, pack our gear and drive over there (it's about 15..20 miles away.
    This part is crucial to practice event shooting. We'll prolly pack some location lights and will use them, however sppedlights would be the tools of choice for that.
    Most importantly it will give us some extra raw material for day 2 (postprocessing/workflow)

    you'll post a list (or email it out) of what to bring for this trip? I see portability needed for the party as well as ... well, dangit. I'm not going in jeans! my normal camera bag can make a person fall over, and that's not fully stocked, so I need to think this out.....

    Sure, will do next week (busy weekend, sorry)
    And don't worry, all you'd need for that is your camera, relatively fast lens and a speedlight...
    We'll get back to my studio after that and then I'll drive you to the hotel...
