Just thought I would pass along something I recently tried with my own Facebook page which increased my fan base by almost 400 fans in one week. I also have several bookings from this as well...previously my Facebook page had not generated any "new" business.
I held a contest for my clients who had their portraits done during the summer months. The winner received a free portrait session (value of $95) to them) along with a print of their entry collage (value $45 to them). You can see all of the details on my FB page which is listed in my signature below. I have tried many ways to tap into the magic of FB as a marketing tool and finally found it. This is hands down the best advertising I've ever done and I'm already planning additional contests. My clients LOVED it and really got into it!
Just thought I would share something I found that worked well. Good luck!

Also - is there a blogger thread of this same nature? I have a list of links on there - anyone interested in trading? (Pardon my ignorance - but will that help with SEO?)

As far as I know, I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. Just uploaded a profile picture, and added a few images.
I've been crammed in the engineering books the past two weeks, but I'm going to try to take the camera out on a date this weekend. Hopefully more pictures will be up soon.

I was led to an online site called Pagemodo that promissed a free custom facebook page. "just add your details" after spending two hours formatting my images to fit and entering my data I got to the upload page and received this reply. Sorry...not accepted. They wanted you to use the other three options which required a monthly fee. I dumped the whole thing and poured myself a glass of wine.
