Add these to a long list of entries in this challenge that I like better than mine - I especially like the last one.
beautiful pix - what was your vantage point for the photo of Mt Monadnock - it looks like it could be Cathedral of the Pines. It's a shame about the ice storm they had a few years ago.
Art in the Garden
The images in this challenge are just stunning. I wanted to share this image that I shot today at the North Carolina Arboretum's Quilt Garden. Artists from Knoxville designed and installed this fabric sculpture as their interpretation of the garden's design. We received snow earlier this week and this is what is left in the garden. Just brought a smile to my face when I saw it today. Stay warm out there.

Love the burning bush.
The picture of Mt. Monadnock is from Frost Hill Rd in Marlborough, NH. There is an open spot near a cemetary that provides a nice view.
Ah...yeah...WOW! bow You guys definitely didn't make this easy for me. I tried to stay away from this thread until it was over so I'd have a fresh take on everything. Absolutely amazing entries! Gonna take some thought for this. I'll post the winner thread soon.
rainbow - that is a great shot, such a mixture of togetherness and loneliness. I like the guy with the cigarette in the background--he seems to be wondering who it was who just walked past him. Nicely done!

That first shot was the very first one that I took that morning. Facing eastward to the last vestiges of the storm that was moving off. I think I should call it "Calm After the Storm."..
The third one was actually a merge of 5 shots taken in portrait orientation, handheld in manual to that the exposures would be equivalent to leave absolutely no seams between images. It actually got published in the Chronicle of the Horse back in late February of this year, spanning accross both pages of an article on the show.
So very happy that I actually got up that morning We all knew the show wouldn't start on time, I could have just been lazy and slept in!

A sobering reflection. Thanks for the reminder.
