    Hi Y'all,

I arrived home on Sunday after three weeks of traveling including two weeks spent in Kenya. I came home with around 16,000 captures so the next few weeks (months?) will be a post processing frenzy.

I'll have lots more to say about the trip and the workshop that will never adequately describe the experience. Right now I'm going to go with magical.

fantastic Harry... where was mommy when you shot those cubs???clap.gif

The mommy lioness must have been a big believer in the empty nest concept as these two were on their own.

Welcome home, Harry! These shots are wonderful. Looking forward to viewing more of the same. And the first thing I thought of when I opened this thread was 'Harry's posting kitty cat pics!' :D

Don't call my lions "kitty cats". :rambo

    Welcome Home Harry and Linda,
Boy did we ever miss you two. Glad you are home..

Those cats are so Pretty.. Love the big cats. Beautiful pics
You must have been just completely overjoyed, thrilled and overwhelmed to see them in the wild... Wow

    (like the ones in color)

Thanks Gale its good to be home but I do miss Africa and want to get back there again.

The good news for ya is that I have loads of lion pics (they were all over the place) the bad news is that Lewa Downs (where we spent the first three days) had experienced a drought so there wasn't much color in the vegetation. So I'm doing lots of B&W images from those days.

Thanks for Sharing the pics! I do hope you can find time to also share some info on the trip itself. But, if it's just pics I'm all for it! Congratulations.

Thanks Tom and these pcis are just an appetizer.

I expect to start a thread in the Journeys forum eventually because so many of the images are not specifically wildlife. 13 days in Africa with 9 other photgraphers, two workshop leaders, numerous guides and many Massai tribesfolk plus a number of flights in Cessna planes produced a variety of different types of images.

I've kissed my wife good-bye and I'm tucked away in my office trying to make sense of 16,000 captures. I've gone through the first 1,000 and only have 15,000 more to work on. Hopefully I will emerge in time for Thanksgiving.

Great set of cat shots, Harry. Shooting them in the rain was golden, wasn't it?

I look forward to see more of your Nikon files low noise imagery!

Thanks Pam, it was easy to get low angles with the vehicles we were using. I tried to avoid shooting from the top as much as possible. The animals in afica are like the birds in Florida -they don't consider vehicles to be a danger so you can get very clsoe to them.

So glad that you had a "magical" trip Harry. Never thought that I would be interested in an Africa trip, but after seeing your first few images my mind is being changed.

All great so far but I like the second image the best so far.

I got quite a few captures of Andy but since this is a family firendly site I can't show most of them.

I had a fantatsic time. The best trip I have ever taken. wings.gif
