Any Idea Yet On Google Analytics. The box provided gives very limited functionality. I had, previous to the update, been using the javascript version of Analytics. Since the update, it claims that nearly every visit to my site is a direct visit. I know this is not true, as it is just now logging all of my Search Traffic as Direct Traffic, and no longer telling me the search terms people use to get to my site. I will include a graph of my "Search Traffic" Vs My "Direct Traffic" for the last month. The 2 days where both are "0" is the day the new smugmug was launched. I would love to get the full functionality of Google Analytics back, because it is what I use for nearly all of my SEO.

Here is the link to the graph: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B379XpVx5KgbSUppUkFNRzI5QmM/edit?usp=sharing

You can now find StatCounter in your Account Settings, on the Stats tab. Please let us know how it works (or doesn't work) for you.

COOL BEANS! THANK YOU! Installed, and will see what happens.

That's great. I was wondering why search traffic appeared to have died

That is great news!!! I had just cancelled my Statcounter account yesterday ... but have fired it up again today!!!! Will need to wait a couple of days to see it everything is working as expected.
Thankyou for responding to this need. I'm hoping the new Smugmug will allow you to update and add features more easily than Smugmug 1.0
My opinion does not necessarily make it true. What you do with my opinion is entirely up to you.

Very curious what Statcounter gives you that GA doesn't? ear.gif

    Andy,

For me it's not a matter of content, its a matter of ease of use. One click and I can tell instantly who has accessed my website, all their demographics, and all of the pages and images they have accessed in one easy to read page. Plus I can click on the links they accessed an view the actual pages/images they visited.

There's nothing wrong with GA other then it doesn't work for me. My wee little mind has a hard time finding all the information I need.

I have my browser set up with two buttons, one gives me the total hit information, the other gives me the visitor details.

    Phil

Edit: Of course I'm referring to the JS version...the html version works the same albeit minus a whole lot of the important data I need.

So far it looks like that didn't do the trick.. Still no search traffic showing up, and 70% of my traffic is showing up as Direct (the real number should be less than 30%)
