Prioritizing Issues - Top 5

I've now unveiled. I've made peace with the existing bugs and limitations and have moved from initial design to site management. I thought this a good time to revisit the many issues I've been watching and identify the short list of ones most important moving forward. Here are my top five, more-or-less in order of importance. None of these are new.

1. Provide Sharegroup page formatting capabilities. Reference.
2. Allow selection of keywords in the keyword cloud widget. Reference.
3. Allow for an All Pages template or equivalent. Reference.
4. Allow random start or order (or both) in the slideshow widget. Reference (one of many).
5. Enable editing of selections in the Gallery, Folder & Page content block. Reference.

What are other people's top five? (I'd recommend no new ideas and no additional lobbying. Just the list.)

    In no particular order...

    1. Fix the log-in page (it doesn't "remember" login details). There are many references so I won't choose any one above the others.
    2. Come good on the provision of x4 and x5 display. Reference.
    3. Share/Get a Link still needs direct link to original size if display of originals is enabled. Reference.
    4. Fix the problem with the Popular Photos gallery "topping up" with photos that aren't Popular. Reference.
    5. Batch-editing tool (Organize > Edit > Gallery Tools > Captions & Keywords) needs to include Titles. Again, there are many references so I won't choose any one above the others.
    Yippee ki-yay, footer-muckers!

    1. Allow specification of a folder anywhere you currently specify a gallery, and have it recursively include all subfolders and galleries.
    2. Allow the use of images from password-protected galleries in slideshows.
    3. Allow random start and/or random order of images in slide show.
    4. Allow hierarchical inheritance of page customization.

I really only have 4 important ones.

    1. Be able to share photos from password protected galleries in a public smart gallery. This worked when I first unveiled, then something changed. Change it back, please. My whole site has been built on that concept.

    2. Allow us to delete and/or edit gallery Quick Settings and also set one as a default.

    3. Give us the option to remove the link back to the original gallery in smart galleries in Journal and SmugMug views. There is a reason my smart galleries consist of photos from unlisted or password protected galleries - I don't want the public poking around in there.

    4. The bulk keyword and description tool should include ability to edit titles.

    5. Even though I choose to show camera info, photos in password protected galleries are not allowing it. That should be fixed.

1-5 Redirect URLs when a gallery is moved

    http://pictures.mtbethel.org/Men (Legacy)
http://pictures.mtbethel.org/Ministry/Men (New SM, after streamlining galleries)

Old URL goes to 404. This did not happen with Legacy.

    1. Allow non-square thumbs in Thumbnail gallery view
    2. Random order in slideshows
    3. Re-use cropped thumbs using "Tools > Edit > Crop Thumbnail" for featured photos in galleries, folders and /search (do not use centered crops)
    4. Custom gallery style for /keyword, /search and /date
    5. Allow lower and upper case URLs

Besides that... love the new SM thumb.gif
