    pegelli,

I prefer to see the rusty chain treated a little more rudely than here. I realize that's very much a personal preference. I think a different perspective would benefit this shot. The subject is bunched way too much to the left...creates an unbalanced image.

Thanks for the input Tom, always nice to hear how others perceive your images.
This was taken and PP'd several years ago, maybe I'll take another go at a different processing based on your comments and see what it gives. If I like it I might post it here again.

    Here's another rusty one

@ black mamba, here's a slightly more junkyfied version of the same shot, and a different crop.
Is this more the direction you were suggesting?

    pegelli,

As an incorrigible member of the Rust Junkie clan, I naturally go for the more extreme treatment of the chain. I'm thrilled, however, that you and some other accomplished shooters have elected to offer your own versions of rusty things. There's certainly room for a more moderate approach to our game. The more folks we have bringing their interpretations of rust to the table, the greater chance we can all hone our craft.
Thanks for throwing your work into the mix.

Thanks Tatiana, it was an old shot from 2009 so relooking at old shots with new eyes can pay off. The new way I processed it was certainly inspired by other rust junky shots in here

Here's a shot from last weekend, taken especially for this thread:

Very nice! But, Ha, ha,... if you would work on the curves and saturation, etc., I'm wondering what will it happen to the sky :)headscratch.gif

I already pulled a bit on the orange, yellow and red channels but this is as junkyfied as I like to go on this one.

I hope I have not been evicted from Rusttown due to non-participation. I still have some rust in my soul. iloveyou.gif I will ease back in with this first one--I did not do much rustification because I just like this as it is.
