Man that was a great day. I will do that same trip a few more times at different times. I will try and post a few pics when I get a chance.
"A photo is like a hamburger. You can get one from McDonalds for $1, one from Chili's for $5, or one from Ruth's Chris for $15. You usually get what you pay for, but don't expect a Ruth's Chris burger at a McDonalds price, if you want that, go cook it yourself." - me
Anytime some one is in the Space Coast area give me a holler and I can show you some good shooting locations.
Harry, My wife and I will be at KSC for the shuttle launch next week. We have causeway tickets for the launch, any suggestions for other places to photograph while we are there?
Thanks
Ken
Life is too important to take seriously, no one gets out of it alive.

Here are a few of mine from the trip with bham (Scott) to Noccalula Falls which was closed and Little River Canyon in northeast Alabama. We'll announce when we're going again and maybe we can get a group together for a day of shooting.
Mallard Duck at Noccalula Falls near Gadsden, Alabama.
Small falls on Little River near the south end of the preserve.

You did a much better job with the colors. I need to try and rework mine.

Quick trip, tomorrow, 12/9/07, Shenandoah River
I'm going to do a day break trip down the Shenandoah River -- the section through Harpers Ferry -- start in the 0 dark hundred early am. I'll probably take a raft rigged to row, so I could take a passenger. The water is really low so it's easy to overload.
Anyway, if you're in the area and want to help slog a raft in exchange for the opportunity to catch some good light in a unique area, let me know. We'll probably have a kayaker or two tagging along.

PS, plenty of bombproof dry bags to loan for the trip.
Myself and Dixie will be getting together next week one day to go shoot at a Railroad musuem. Any photographers in the area interested in coming as well let us know. We will decide on a day on Monday.
The musuem is in Central Alabama.

Ok everything is set for the get together at Berry College in Rome, Georgia on May 10th.
They now only allow faculty, Alumni, or current students to drive to the House of Dreams.
So if we want to go we will have to walk. I am told it is about a 2 1/2 mile walk.
We are set to start the tour of Oak Hill at 10am when they open. The fee is $4 per person. the tour through the museum, house and gardens is about 2 hours.
As you would expect NO PHOTOGRAPHY in the mueseum or house but anywehre else is ok. Once done there we have free run of the grounds for photography.
Then I figure maybe grab lunch at some place maybe WOW (World of Wings)
Then off to see the rest of the campus.
I don't NEED it but it would be nice to get a head count so i can give her the info when she calls closer to time to reconfirm with me. We are planning on meeting at the McDonald's by Mount Berry Square mall around 9am for a meet and greet before we are off on our trek. If anyone needs directions then just pm me and I will direct you bes I can.
In the other thread I believe some of us ae planning on meeting a little early for some early morning wildlife shots. Check here as well for the discussion:
I got your message today. Any ideas on where to go? I do not know of many photogenic places in Central Alabama. I am willing to travel a little ways. In Huntsville Green Mountain was one of my favorites.
Dixie, Rhinotherunt and myself are meeting to shoot at the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum this Friday June 6th at 9:30 am, if anybody else would like to come shoot with us.
pm me if interested in meeting up.

I was at Little River Falls a week ago and was disappointed to see so little water falling - maybe 8-10ft wide on the far left side looking from below the falls. Above the falls was virtually dry - hard to tell what little falling water was coming from. Just a heads up...might save you some time.

Thanks for the heads up. Seeing the falls wasn't the primary reason for the trip but good to know so we can plan accordingly. You got any pics from your trip.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Nope, no pics. Took all my gear and was so disenchanted once we got over there (especially when our cabin reservation at DeSoto was lost~BOOOO!), I never even opened my bag. We turned around after seeing the *no*falls & drove back to Atlanta.

bham (Scott),

Plus lets nail a date down.

Hey dood, I know you
Let's plan something for early August. What days of the week would work best for the most people?
*bump* For Western NC and Eastern TN folks - any weekends in August work?
Here are the dates that won't work for me...
August 9th
August 12th-16th
anything else and I'm game.
Hey man
Now, where do we want to go? (Hopefully somewhere that will attract a few more people )
Leaf changing season will soon be upon us. Anyone want to start looking at dates for a trip? Maybe we could go up the Blue Ridge Parkway?
I'm certainly open to ideas -
Do you guys ever come "up" to Skyline Drive? I'd be up for a weekend of leaf (and critter) peeping.
