No New Comment Notification

I'm not getting any notifications, the little blue numbers on the top right here on the forum. I didn't change any settings and I still shows I should get notifications when a new comment is posted.

Odd, it works now. I didn't get notifications on three different threads in the Customization section yesterday.

Can you post links to a couple of the posts that you failed to receive the notifications you think you should have? I reviewed my own preferences and found that I was wrong to have expected a notification to a post you made above, so I don't have an example to show the support team. Thx.

PS: You probably know this, but just in case you don't, you can link to specific posts by copying the link location when you hover over the timestamp of a post.

There are multiple posts after your first one in two of these threads. Is notification broken for the whole thread or only certain responses?

I suggested using the timestamp to identify the exact post.

If you hover your cursor over the date, you will see the time as well in the tool-tip. If you right-click on the date and copy the link location, you will get a url containing the unique post ID https://dgrin.com/discussion/comment/2098984/#Comment_2098984

I'm only active in the "Support" section. Pretty sure this is a recent event. I commented on all three of those threads above and I have yet to receive a notification. As noted before, I have received a few notifications on this thread. I haven't touched my settings.

Vanilla support has reset a few things which may fix the problem. If you see it again, please let us know in this thread. A link to the post would be helpful. Thx.

Thanks Mike. Keep the examples coming. Last I heard, Vanilla had been able to recreate the anomaly and they're working on a fix.

I rarely start a topic. This is the first one I've created in a while and I'm getting this notification. All other recent topics (not started by me) are not getting notifications.

Last I heard from Vanilla, their engineers were still looking at the problem. AFAIK, nobody else has reported it so far. One member did have an issue with email notifications, but that turned out to be unrelated.

Odd that I'm the only one, but then again, it makes perfect sense. I'm always the odd man...lol!

I don't get notifications either, but I just check on threads I'm interested in manually. For critical/topical threads I create an RTF file with clickable links and check that way instead.

In my case I use a number of different computers (and a hotspot and phone) and even different ISPs, so I figure that probably exacerbates the problem.

In other words, I'm probably atypical so unconcerned about notifications for myself.

It's not that I don't get "any" notifications, because I do get some notifications, they are inconsistent and I don't rely on them anymore.

Vanilla has installed the fix. It's probably a good idea to log out and log back in, though I'm not sure that's really required for this one. Note that the fix does not address old notifications that were missed, just new ones going forward. If you continue to see problems, keep posting in this thread.
