    Hey, Andy! That's my line!

Congrats, BWG. Totally took me by surprise. I'm gonna get me one of those at the end of the year when they roll out the 64 bit version. By then my powerbook will be 4 years old.

You may want to check out my Mac Maintenance page.

Is that AIM or AOL you've got down there in your dock? Blecch. Avoid AOLware at all costs.

So tell all...why? What made you do it? Also, I want to hear how it goes, the good, the bad and the ugly.

yeah, it's AIM. iChat wouldnt let me connect because it says i've already got a connection from this IP (my winders box). there is no trillian for mac...you got a suggestion?

why did i do it? well, i've wanted a notebook for a while, i like to try new things and i had some $ to blow.

they guy at the apple store said i was lucky to walk out with one..says that they're still on a waiting list and as they get them in stock thats where they go. I guess someone's just gonna have to wait till the next shipment then. heh.

it's the 2ghz model with 1gb ram (the other gig is in the mail). I'll reserve judgement until i've played with it a while and get over the initial learning curve. I will say this though, i scavenged the mouse from my pc already. i was going insane trying to right click.

oh, one more thing. the initial setup was pretty nice, but the first thing it prompted me to do once i logged in the first time? download updates and reboot. some things are just the same i guess. ne_nau.gif

No, use iChat (which works with AIM) or Adium, which works with AIM, Google, MSN, Yahoo, and more...

If you use Adium, I suggest setting Appearance>Window Style to "Group Bubbles".

Does it come with a mouse? The Mighty Mouse takes some getting used to, but I really like it now. Especially for editing, I like the horizontal scroll.

FYI: Control-click is the same as right-click (if you're ever mouse-less) and shift-scroll will scroll horizontally.

Doesn't matter if you only use AIM. What group bubbles does is dynamically resize your buddy list so it's only as big as it needs to be. And it groups your buddies by...uh...groups. Like I have family, work and dgrin. Although I can't get devbobo out of my work group and into dgrin, for some reason.

I'll have you know that the Mighty Mouse has left-click, right-click, scroll, sideways scroll and a squeezey thing that activates Expos-ay in all it's apple-y goodness.

Yeah, so what if I am?

Actually, it's funny that you call me dainty hands, because nrchris has been calling me beef-mitts ever since he saw this photo of me holding Winger's new 20D way back:
