Regarding Sales threads.. I am seeing a disturbing trend: Adding 3% for PayPal. As you (should?) know, it is against the PayPal TOS to charge a fee to the buyer to use PayPal. Additionally, it's bad marketing and bad sales practice to add fees as a private seller. And, should anyone get a burr up his booty and report the seller to PayPal, that seller's PP account could be closed.
I'm on multiple photo boards as well as multiple automobile related boards with sales sections and ALL of them forbid advertising products with "+3% if you use PayPal" or similar wording. From discussions on those boards, there actually is some liability to the forum for allowing this (ie. PayPal can take action against the forum owners).
May I suggest to not allow this practice on the board? Sellers should simply ask a reasonable price that would factor in any possible fees. Of course, should a buyer decide to mail a cashier's check or whatever, the seller could offer to reduce the price a little bit... but the practice of adding 3% for PayPal should be stopped.

I will add a little to this.......the same applies to sellers wanting to be paid by a PayPal Gift....so they (the seller) don't get stuck for the PP fees..........it also leaves the buyer with no recourse should the buyer get ripped off.

This has been discussed in Flea Market before (here). I have also added a link to the forum guidelines. Just as a note, this is definitely not disturbing or new. Also, be aware that Dgrin's flea market policy is primarily hands off. We provide a place to start trades, and that is all.
Thanks for bringing up again, though. It's good to review and keep the guidelines up to date.
No problem, and thanks for adding that to the Guidelines. Does that mean we can report sales that add the fee?
I don't want to beat a dead horse but I really think it would be smart for the moderators/owners or whatever of this board to do some research on the liability opened up to you by not being even more proactive on this - I've seen this situation on multiple boards and you'd be surprised... (no, this isn't a threat and I'm not trying to be a PITA - just trying to be helpful).

We appreciate your concern, and aware of the situation.

It should be more about the responsibility of the buyer and seller to abide by laws or contracts that may be used during their transaction. At least that's my opinion.
