It's actually a curved surface... the focus line runs from bottom-left to upper-right (near middle of frame). Not my best shot, I know... it was an ashtray cylinder thingy.
I think I only saw a bigger one in Paris, Fr., in a very modernist area called La Défense. That one was like 3 stories high - just one thumb, realistic colors, nothing else (yak)...

Nice pebbles! And tilting the camera just a tad lower would make them great pebbles, IMHO:-)
Bring some more (pebble castle? pebble mosaic? pebbles in the ocean? you name it:-).
