    I can't imagine having to choose JUST 10 of the entered images as the judges had to, not from this fortnight's collection! It was hard enough to pick ONE from these top ten to vote on!! Amazing work everyone.

    Kudos to all who made the grade!!! This was the most difficult of all challenges for me to vote on. I think I yanked out most of my gray hair last night. Lack of a common theme made it extremely difficult......I wanted to vote for all of you!!!

    Looks like the LPS formula is working! No disrespect to any of the past challenges or more recent contests, but that is bar-none the best collection of 10 photos I've ever seen in this forum!

    Okay, so the LPS challenge was able to draw all sorts of new photographers... but man are these weak voting numbers! Are we gonna have to hold an LVS contest?

    I took a look at the voting for the old style challenges. Using the data from challenge #68 through #85, the average number of voters was 190 (median 186). Compared to the current public vote here in SF#1 of 142, it is a 25% drop in public participation. So your perception that these are "weak voting numbers" is supported by the evidence.

    I used to like voting in the challenges, because my vote meant something. Here it is sort of meaningless in the larger context. Based on the public vote totals, it looks like there might be others like me.

    Don't misinterpret what I'm saying as criticism. As you indicate, the new contest format has brought in a lot of new participation from photographers. That's a good thing.

    But I don't think you should expect even the same level as before of voting participation from the "average" Dgrin member.

    My guess is that having a vote only once a quarter means people who aren't participating aren't showing up in this forum as often as they used to. Maybe it is worth having a "People's Choice" vote for the qualifiers as well and revive the $40 worth of prints reward for first place.
