A local organization "Valley Center for The Blind" had recently contracted me to photograph their Guide Dogs for next year's calendar. Here are some of the shots....
There was one of those "special moments" here this weekend. I couldn't believe the gall of our youngster, but our older Shiba seemed to love it; she was toasty warm.
Even about 1/2 hour later....
Notice only a little bit of shifting. The Shiba's rear legs on the top photo were sprawled, and together with a slight shift to the Shiba on the bottom's shoulder & waist below...
These are JPGs from the camera; I was using the FA 50/1.4 (what a value) in available light, though there was enough light to stop down, though at ISO 400 on the 1st & 800 on eht 2nd. I need to covert the RAWs and do w/b adjustment for some better conversions. Just though I'd to share before that.
m80...those are some beautiful Shiba's...we have what we believe is a Shiba-Lab mix. We rescued this dog from the pound one day before they were going to put him down...he is an awesome dog. He has the markings of a Shiba, the tail of Shiba, the size of a Shiba...but the head shape of a Lab, ears of a Lab and webbed feet like a Lab. He has the behavioral characteristics of a Shiba.
This is Hershey. A friends dog that was enjoying himself in the park, chasing tennis balls, and playing with the kids.
The sun started going down and I had to pose him in that beautiful golden light. His mom helped me by getting his attention and reminding him to hold still.
My Princess .. Snow (the kennel named her, we just kept it.) Deaf, going blind 3 year old Aussie Mix. but mixed with what? I dont know.
Then theres Sammy.. actually Sampson. English coon Hound pup.. 8 months old! a hand full and smart as a wip.. gets into trouble all the time, even got thrown out of doggie day care!!
We had our first snow fall.... which turned out to be a full on blizzard so I decided to try and take some pics of the kiddies playing the back yard... I wanted to get some action shots but they kept trying to dig in the drifts.
Some beautiful dog portraits on here, nice to see some greyhound love as well. My wife and I have rescued 2 retired racers in the past couple years. They like to sleep a lot :snore
