Probably one of the most asked-for features at SmugMug has been Holiday Cards :D And we're happy to announce that they are here and live on the site as of now :barb :ivar

You can find out more about them, here or just go to your photo tools menu under a photo in your gallery and look for "Create a Card" :D

This was an amazing SmugMug effort by our team of Sorcerers, Led by Shizam, and assisted by Bigwebguy and Mike Lane - and awesome cards from designers Melissa Carlos and Jon (fotodojo) Harsem. :clap

We've got 37 gorgeous designs to choose from, with something for everybody :clap

We really mean it, we do have the best customers, and to all of you, we say a huge THANK YOU for sticking with us.

Now let's go make some cards :lust

EDIT: Bug for pros with custom domains - when you get to the card maker, please change the url from www.yourcustomdomain.com/blahblah to www.smugmug.com/blahblah and the card maker will work perfectly for you. We'll get that sorted out soon, we hope :deal

I can make these cool lookin' cards... But can my customers?
Just noticed that there is a "card" option in the drop down menu for photo options. This is exciting, what cool feature.... I can't find a way for my customer's to do this though... Would be awesome if they could do this on the way to checkout! Possible?

    Thanks!

    Okay thanks.

Can this please be forwarded to feature requests? A great idea, but a little more integration would be great.

I just checked them out - nice job with the artwork!

I feel kind of guilty suggesting this...but maybe this might be a simple thing...

Would it be possible for a completely blank one... Just in case there are any smuggers that have a twisted sense of humor, for example, and want total creative control. Totally hypothetical, of course.

    Thanks!

Alex, you can create you own card in photoshop or something and upload it to a gallery. From there just select one of the card products from the cart.

Gotcha: Only you will be able to purchase your own cards. The products are not available for anyone other than SmugMug customers at this time.

v1 of the card builder is for SmugMug templates only. We'll see what happens in later releases :D

Thank you, smugmug. The templates are really beautiful.

Will there be a simple means of displaying potential templates on our sites?

Aktpics - a blank one would simply be the 4 x 8 print option I believe - been available all along.

Smugmug wizards: do you foresee folding 5 x 7 cards? Calendars?

    Thanks again

I guess what I am looking for is a blank template, so that I can upload my own artwork. If there is any way I can do that now, great. If not, no biggie - I am so stoked that I am going to do some cards this year!

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

You can do your own blank template easily enough. Just open photoshop and create a new document. Make sure the units are inches and set it to 4 by 8 (or 8 by 4 if you're so inclined). Then make sure your resolution is set to 300dpi. Click go and you're all set.

Save your finished card up to your SM site and order away!

You'll be on your own with the envelopes though. deal.gif

Okay, so just to get this straight... You ONLY have the cards through this new special interface. I can't use blank cards with those prices for my clients? If my clients want cards, they use the 4x8 photos and then have those printed up? No envelopes? I'm just trying to clarify!

Thanks so much! This is *really* cool and I can't wait to be able to customize it myself and sell it to my customers!! :D
