    I don't have a custom domain. I use http://micknewton.smugmug.com.

Sorry for the trouble Mick - I suspect some kind of odd cookie issue - we think this will fix itself for you with our next release of this card maker - which hopefully will go live shortly.

Just for giggles, can you try this:

change "micknewton" in your card maker url to www and let us know what happens?

One quick question on the cards. If you choose the Lustre paper, is the back side of the print completely blank, or is there any back printing or paper type watermark?

    Thanks,

Lustre paper is .7mils thicker than gloss and matte. In addition, Lustre paper is watermarked on the back as follows: "Fuji Professional Paper. If copyright applies, permission to reproduce required."

What is expected turn around time - order to ship time?

(And, given the current issues with Canadian Customs, I wonder if there is any likelyhood of receiving the cards early enough? Of course, that is totally beyond SM control)

Same as any other print - 1-2days in lab then shipping method of your choice.

    Does this help?

    Finally!
I tried, and tried, with no luck, I tried all the advise from previous suggestions, but nothing worked. I was using IE7, and Slimbrowser. I finally tried Firefox and it worked. still had to change address from custom address. Hope this helps some.:D

Slimbrowser might be the culprit, I don't think we've ever tested anything with that :)

The custom domain thing will be released soon, we hope - we've tested it internally.

I am trying to remeber what code to copy from the gallery to add it to our webpages. I have a new "private" gallery to place the code in I just need someone to slap me and give me a reminder of what exact code to copy from this gallery. This way I can put it on my site like the one and only Andy has.

I wasn't able to get back to this until late this evening, so I'll just leave my contact info with the help desk and hope for the best... if I can find the help desk...
BTW, I tried deleting cookies and making sure that my cookie settings are as relaxed as I can set them. It didn't make any difference.

    Oy vay!

We Marines have a term: BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front). I just spent a good hour trying to figure out if there was something wrong with my web browser and pouring through what was wrong until I finally found this solution.

Might I suggest that you edit the Original Post of this thread to give a "How To" to folks to disable the javascript that forces the custom domain while trying to use this feature.

Good job on the feature. I just wish I hadn't wasted so much time trying to order cards. I was about to give up, upload my photo to Dotphoto, simply because I was tired of trying to figure out how to use my own photo tool to buy a Christmas Card.

We do say that custom domains are bugged right now, in the first post of this thread :) I hope that's good notice?

Sorry, the time zone thing for me make these discussions difficult. I realized today after a good night's sleep that you're probably waking up to my post whereas it was really late for me and I was trying to "break the code" on this thing.

I don't believe I would have figured out how to do it simply by noting that custom domains are "bugged". I started to suspect it might be the case because I found the help on how to use the create a card feature but then couldn't get it to load any categories. I found this thread and that specific issue. I simply think it would be a good idea to be a bit more descriptive in both the helps and the OP of this thread to note that any javascript custom domain hacks ought to be disabled when using this.

At first, I was really baffled because I only saw the thread that showed how to sell cards to others because that's what is at the top of the thread list now but I was thinking: "Am I supposed to download the original pics and use Photoshop to put my own picture on top?" I was willing to do the work if I could find the PSD's or other such. The instructions only focused on creating a gallery of pics.

It's really after I put together the details of this thread, saw the card thing in action, and then figured out that the goal is to have a person pick the design they want along with the picture they want so I can order it for them that it all made sense.

I must say, Andy, that you have an interesting product and I am really impressed with your patience. I admin and own a 1000 person board and don't have your level of patience. I suppose if I did it for a living it might help but I do appreciate your forbearance. I also think it's pretty fascinating how you guys have built the product to allow for customization of things and given your customers access to the "backend" of their site. It's powerful for us, I know, but I'm also pressed for time and, even though I admin a Linux server, I'm a bit impatient with figuring things out for myself at times since I have precious little time with all my hobbies and work.

Anyhow, after I got it working yesterday I thought to myself: "Somebody has a great deal of imagination who got this thing working this way...." I could tell there had been some really smart customization and imagine the toolset you use probably limits your ability to do certain things. I can tell you're trying hard and I appreciate that.

Great job BTW, these are great...

    Too Small
I've been attempting to build some sample cards using some old photos but when I try to create a new card and select a template I get the message "Sorry, the photo is too small for this card. Please choose a different card or photo."

I've looked around to see if I could figure out what size was needed but have not found anything. (Probably looking in the wrong places!)

I was trying a photo that is 1106px x 809px, for example, that generated this message today. Previously I built one with a photo that was 1215px x 809px in size. So I assume the cutoff is somewhere between 1100px and 1200px.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

No, not really. All the cards have different size "openings" - the finished cards are 2400x1200 @ 300dpi.

If your photo is larger than 2400x1200 it will work on all of the cards.

Don't use small photos... upload your full size pics and you'll never be shut out from our products, and you'll get the best quality :)

    Hi Andy and y'all,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
I created some sample holiday cards which went into the default gallery. I then used the MOVE command to put them here:<o:p></o:p>

    http://the-camera-man.smugmug.com/gallery/3900026<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
People seem to be having difficulties viewing the larger versions of the thumbnails. I even could not see the larger versions using the SmugMug view, so I had to go to the filmstrip view. Now I can see the larger cards but others cannot evidently...help!<o:p></o:p>

These cards are awesome and were very easy to make. This will be a great addition for clients next year with a little more flexibility in the templates for text.
