I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Hope all is well!
Well I'm new to the site but I think its great that people can come together like this to help each other. Although I'm new here I can't help but well umm help because I believe, much like everyone here, that one should treat another person the way they want to be treated.
I'm going to send over my $20 tonight through paypal and although I wish I could help more, me being in college restricts my monetary output..lol. Well I wish you all the best and I know things will work out for the better! God bless!
Sean you are a great person to do this for Chris and I hope you have the most awesome holidays this year. You most definitely have some good karma coming back to you.
But as of Last night The family was about $700.00 short of making the payment needed for the bank.
This includes
$1500 of thier own money they had to begin with
over $2100 of donations via PayPal (many more today)
almost $400.00 worth of Sales from the SmugMug site
This is what I am aware of - there may be some other $ that has come in
today.
This brings the total to about 4k - leaving approx $700.00 needed
This is an outstanding feat! and I am very thankful for the continued concern for Chris.
I will post as soon as I find out a clearer picture of where the family stands.
This is AMAZING!!!!
I was just informed of todays run down
of donations.
I am still in shock.
I'm still waiting for a final total
but it looks like we have surpassed what was needed for the Murphy family to make the payment to the bank and stop the foreclosure.
Even with a one foreclosure possibly everted, the bills still keep coming, for all of us. As we all have seen here, this is a GREAT community, loaded with prime examples of super human beings.
With that in mind, and seeing the outflow of true humanity to someone in bit of a bind, someone the community recognizes as a true talent, I know that I will now aways try to support those of you all who are a part of the Dgrin/Smugmug communities. No more Pottery Barn, or Pier One for me. If I want something to brighten my walls...I know where to find original talent and keen thinking when it comes to photography. clap
Thats Terrific News!
Wow, surpassing the total sounds great!
Going through this during the holiday season must have seemed like a tremendous burden, but its great to know that during the holidays Chris and the family will have somewhere to stay and enjoy themselves as everyone should be able to do. I know that this will make it an extra special holiday season and with it, I expect that camera to be taking great pictures in the near future! Even though I haven’t been on this DGrin for more than a week now, I can easily see that this is one of the best communities around. I wish Chris and the family all my blessings and also extend the blessings to the rest of the community; especially Sean for bringing this issue to everyone’s attention. Furthermore I would love to wish everyone here a great holiday season filled with family and great scenes to capture and share!..lol.
I hope Chris will come by and post as well once the business at hand is taken care of. (mainly paying the bank)
The great news is news I was hoping so much I would be able to say here.
The community has been so very generous and quick to respond.
the results have been no less than astounding.
The people of Dgrin have donated enough money to save the Murphy family home from foreclosure just in time.
(The deadline was November 30 - it takes a minimum 3 days to transfer PayPal funds to to an account.)
cmurph - will be able to keep her camera equipment that she put up for sale to raise money. This means she will still be able to compete in the final leg of the Last Photographer Standing contest.
Best of all the Murphy family will have a house to celebrate Christmas in.

Wow! This is so great! My wife Victoria and I are so happy that we were able to help and that we are a part of this great community. Way to go everyone!
And a big thanks to you, Sean, for letting us all know that help was needed and for coordinating everything!
Amazing. So great to see people put thier heads together and come together for a common good. Im so glad it all worked out (though I never had a doubt). Rock on smugmug.
Way to go everyone! Bit by bit, one person at a time, it all adds up and now a family that we've all just come to know a little bit by Dana's photography will have a house/home for Christmas.
As I sit here tonight with tears in my eyes, I am humbled by a miracle. It is hard to wrap my head around all of this, all that you have done. What does one say when they are standing in the glory of our God. I have cried out to Jesus and he has answered my prayer through all of you. He has taken me in his hands and moved mountains and calmed my storm. We can do all things through him To say Thank you would never cover what you have done I am forever in your debt Chris Dana Emily Ryan Jacob (The Murphy Family)
I'm glad Sean stepped up because this is best LPS challenge in which I have participated. In truth, I think I needed to be part of this more than Dana and Chris needed the help. At this time of year, with all of bad news we hear daily, it is very uplifting to be part of a community as great as this one. Good luck Chris and Dana!!!
~on second thought, if you sold your camera maybe, just maybe, I would have a chance of moving from honorable mention to the top-10.... Oh what have we done~

PS. A big thanks to Sean for making the Dgrin members aware!
PPS. I am really impressed with this online community. What great members...
Another update,
The Murphy family is continuing to get a few more donations and they are much appreciated.
I received an email from Dana saying that the donations have almost matched the exact amount needed to pay the bank demand.
I am still very very excited to see how amazing this community is.
Thank you again, Everyone!
