I let the wife trade off my Jeep Liberty for a new Ford Fusion...for her...this summer, and I was left with our minivan...yuck! Well I found me a Jeep Wrangler just a couple of days ago. It's a 1995 with 64,000 miles. Lots of goodies on it, looks and runs like new. Here are a few shots of it...
I traded in my convertible to get a truck. It was November '03 and I got an '04 Silverado 4x4 w/8' bed. I use it for horsey stuff and whatever else needs pulling/moving.
(My father makes fun of the horse grille, but I'm a girl so it IS allowed.)

:cry indeed. At least the clutch on the 410 is one of the easiest to change. When I swapped out the engine I replaced the clutch at the same time. What felt like a perfectly normal clutch actually had just little bits of grip plate left and I'd say over 70% was worn down to bare metal. I'd hate to see what yours looks like.

I lifted it up on the fork lift. I Dropped the box and the pad fell out looking like straw
I love my SJ's. That's another one in the background I have had since new in 1987.
The bell housing was full of it
The clutch plate was obviously bare
I took these with my cell phone, not really where you want to be with a DSLR without gloves (lack of organization)
Do rentals count?
About an hour away from home, on our way to vacation, I T-Boned a car with my 4X4 ('04 Envoy SLT) at a hard brake from 80 MPH. $13000 damage...:cry
Anyway, after checking that we still had all our body parts in their proper places, we rented this Explorer and went anyway.
I figure it's about the path and not the conveyance!

This is my actual 4x4, ready to start for Florida last February:
Though it is dirtier than most of the other trucks that have been posted- this one is only 2 wd. Look at the front axle.
This thread as reminded me how much I miss having a 4wd.

2wd drive Tacoma- requires really good driving skills to get into the backwoods!!

Has the SJ still got the original engine? 1 litre or 1.3 litre? Or did that go out with the mod suspension?

The only thing that is still Jeep is the body and frame, everything else has been modified, replaced or fabricated.
