Schmoo, Davev, nice work - interesting that you both put up shots of the Vietnam memorial.

Great, really great to have had the day with all of you! I'm just downloading now, but I'm not sure I'll manage to stay awake long enough to look.
Christina and I 'slept in til 7:15 this morning, and then went off to her horse show. Unfortunately, I had to get to the airport before her horse and her were dressed, so I didn't get any shots!

    Thanks everyone - I had a blast!

Every year in philly, we have a cherry blossoms festival, usually sponsored by Subaru.

This year the main events is today, Sunday April 13th 2008.

They have lots of main things going on, like Japanese Tea Ceremony, Taiko Drum, Ikebana, Origami, Japanese Dance, Art Stands, Sushi Food Court, etc.

I only got a chance to go for an hour, before my friend's baby birthday party, so, pretty much I only saw the opening ceremony, but at least I got some shots taken from the festival.

You can check my gallery HERE

Is there anyone else live in Philly and happened to go to the festival today?

Hehe, I was actually up at 6:15, but I happily took a nap from about 6:45 until 7:15 after feeding the horses. It certainly wasn't long enough! We didn't even leave the show grounds until 7:30pm. It was a long day to finish a long weekend. I only got around to looking at two pictures...

An Orchid from the Botanical gardens with the 1.8, yikes that's a narrow depth of field. Fun!

That's a great shot! I was too intimidated by the 5,000 other people in that room to try taking flower photos. But man, it is a beautiful conservatory. I bet it's actually peaceful in the middle of the week. :D

AWww, thanks Schmoo! I think Cassis and Davev have very similar shots. I was taking some of those flowers earlier, but at a different angle. When I was playing with the 1.8 Davev pointed me in that direction, so I can't take credit for the idea.

I saw a sign that said no tripods on the weekends...I think that means you CAN have tripods on the weekdays. I'm thinking it'd be a nice place to play hookie one day. mwink.gif

I wish work did not get in the way of what sounded like a great time. :cry

However, we can get together anytime (and a weekday trip might be great).

Thank you everyone for making this such a wonderful trip. Special thanks to the tour guides.

I've only processed one photo so this is all I have for now.
