@Taz - actually the sign means "one way except for bikes". A very interesting experience, riding down this somewhat narrow street with panniers sticking off both sides of your bike and meeting a car coming at you. There's barely enought room for both and the bicyclist must have nerves of steel. (which I've developed after years of riding on such streets!)

In the Greenwich foot tunnel (under the Thames). Maybe a sign that shows what is allowed would be shorter

I was in Greenwich in 2011, but I was unaware of the foot tunnel under the Thames, I would loved to have walked it. Good sign.

Beverage-themed signage...

1) Oh, Napa/Sonoma I love you!!! I find it extremely swell to pull up to an intersection such as this one and have that difficult choice before me - which winery next???




2) I spent a couple of days in the Rhineland Palitinate wine region of Germany (near the French border) and there are many lovely wine-restaurant signs


3) and in Bavaria you can find directions to the nearest glass of fresh milk (Kühmilch)
