I appreciated this sign as I was riding my bike through a forest in France ("zone of silence, no motor- or electrified vehicles"). It was indeed lovely and quiet.

Kind of reminds me of this sign I saw on the northern edge of the Thames in east London - I almost missed it I was laughing so hard as the ferry rolled westward on the river - that's why I missed the left side of the text, but you can still make it out " Danger! If you must enter these premises uninvited....." So very droll!

It is a very cool place a kind of a ghost town - more village than town, as you know, with lots of photo ops.

That's really what I had in mind when I started this thread ages ago.

I always figure when they put up a sign like that one, the the street department is trying to give you a small clue!
