Awesome! Thanks Baldy, I'm humbled that you would put it up on the SmugMug walls, especially after seeing some of the prints you already have there. I'll have to come back and see the office when it's finished.

What a nice idea. I may have missed the boat in proferring suggestions, but a couple below just in case you still have some oddly colored wall that needs concealing. :D

    Hey Mike,

I'd like to buy a 30x40 of this but I'd like to make a print of it at one of the pro labs we're evaluating. Nothing against our current lab, which we aren't gonna ditch, but we're trying to exercise some alternatives and check out packaging, turnaround, mountings, color accuracy, etc.

Can I pay for this by sending you a PayPal?

    Thanks,
    Baldy

Hey I saw that, I appreciate it. I tweaked on it a little. I haven't printed it at that scale but it should be good on the wall.

    Thanks!

Absolutley. My PayPal is the email address on my "contact me" and SmugMug registration for the website.

I assume you can download it without me doing anything weird, since you kind of have the keys to the kingdom lol.

Hey Baldy, hope I'm not too late to toss my ballot into the hat here.

This gallery represents what I consider to be my very best work -- many years and miles logged to get these:

I'd offer up my favorite landscape shots, but they're panoramas, and you'd have to purchase a 24x36 with "no cropping" just to get a 12x36, not to mention the fact that they won't ship flat let alone with in-lab mounting.

If you'd like something like this, let me know and I'll get it done at WHCC.

Mmmmm, you have some really great shots. mwink.gif

I've been able to find a fair number of photos in sizes up to maybe 40 inches that print well, but we're beginning to get addicted to the look of bigger prints on the walls. It's tougher to find shots that print well in the 60-inch or bigger range (pixel-peepers visit and alas, we can't help ourselves either).

We printed this one 40x60 and it came out stunning and stops a lot of people in their tracks:

    http://lepingzha.smugmug.com/gallery/506515_Zfxvz/1/20786486_7BDdX/Large

His medium-format film, drum scanned looked so great we went 60x72 on this one:

    http://lepingzha.smugmug.com/gallery/507003_WnwSh/1/20790845_b8UQB/Large

How was your tidepool vertical panorama shot? Do you think it would hold up to printing it 72 inches high?

We ran a lot of test shots through whcc and the results were excellent (we just completed a big pro-lab shootout).

But I've been making the big prints elsewhere because we can get mounting and flat shipping up to 72 inches, and they'll do odd heights and widths. Are you flexible wrt whcc?

    Hey Baldy,

Not sure if you have anyone in the office originally from the Motor City, but if so, they might like one or both of these on the walls near them. First is the Ambassador Bridge, second is the Renaissance Centre.

Pyry, I love your work... most especially your skies!!! But your variety is fantastic. You seem to cover a different subjects really creatively and well. But WOW... the skies!

My fave is the milky way rising. My guess is you shot that on a mount that tracks with the stars... (what is that called? I forget)... thus the stars are sharp but the trees blur. VERY cool. You must have some extremely wide lenses. Do I see trees at both the top and bottom of one frame? A full fisheye image cropped to fill the frame? Excellent and interesting work.
