Yep, load times for me are of the chart... Times appear to be 40+ seconds for my front page... And I don't have any no-cache directives even!

I just rescaled my graphs and ouch...

Andy, can you confirm there is a problem at the Smugmug end? There's nothing listed on http://smugmug.wordpress.com/

If I had something to list I would. Site's screaming for most, slow for some. Engineers are on it and I'm letting them work it rather than bother 'em right this moment.

Same problem here but only since last night 05/03/09. Exceptionally slow pageloads and time outs. Speed seems to increase a little bit when logged in as admin. But this doesn't help the customer. Any ideas of how long this will take to fix?

    Add me to the list...
Just had a client call complaining because they couldn't get the pictures to load. It seemed to be working fine for me all morning, but its dog slow now...horrible timing because they're trying to place a large order!!! dooh.

It's affecting everything including rss feeds. You can look at my website.

    www.sileomedia.com

The images in each post are feed from rss feeds, and they are stalling out. This was all working fine pretty much all day for me up until around 4pm.

This situation is getting progressively worse.

I'm at 7+ minutes trying to get a gallery to load and less than half of the thumbnails are up.

Essentially the gallery is frozen although it appears to be still attempting to load.

Customers are not going to wait 2 minutes, much less over 7 minutes to get a page to load.

This is piss poor timing for me as I am working on a website redesign, and I am just starting to get client inquiries and request....pleaseeee fixit lol.

Same here.... it is horribly slow and some pics just won't load. It has been a bit sluggish over the last few days, but not so bad as it is now.

Similar issue here... started around 2-2:30PM CST today
    Hey Andy,

Unfortunately it's not PC nor ISP specific in my case. We have dual T1's at work, dual ISP providers and it's slooooow.... all wired connections. Same problems at home on different PC's.

I was almost expecting a tweet "Sorry guys, temporary performance issues with SM - be aware your customers may be experiencing problems"

Although I have monitoring on my sm site that does alert me when it goes down, or performance falls below a threshold, most people don't...

    READ ONLY MODE!?!

Doh! This is my biggest sales week of the year. I've got 21 galleries to create tonight, and sales over the next week will produce over 30% of my revenue for the entire year. (all in a single week)

Do what you gotta do, but this has got to work. Tonight.

I'll get the pizza delivered to the smugmug offices, since everyone should be working the late shift. Someone else can buy the beer after things are running again.

We're back right now. Read only mode, is not 'down' it means your sites are there, and working -but yes, this means you can't edit or add photos. But I need to carefully make the distinction, as we're the only site that I know of, in our space, that has this.

Down a lot? We take this very seriously, and we've got an amazing record of performance over the years. We're sorry for the spurt of read only modes and maintenance.

They must be having no fun at all. Figures as it is one of my expected busy days as well. ..however I am well over a day behind due to feeling awful today and stayed mostly in bed. Having just now started going through shots, I am no where near being able to start uploading. So in a way I sorta have an excuse!

Believe me, we know it. But read only is an important feature so in the rare times when we do have to do work on the site, the engineers can do it while still serving up photos.

I'm really sorry we had this issue tonight! Hang in there, and thanks for your patience.
