Folks with failing uploads - can you try again, a small upload, 10-20 files, and let us know of your success or continued failure? Thanks. We continue to work on finding the problem.

Just wanted to let you know I'm having the same issue though it seems to be getting better. At first I couldn't up load anything without an error, now it seems I can upload between 1 to 5 images before getting an error. (www.jrslaterphotography.com) I can use the basic uploader though it seems to be a little slower than normal. Just wanted to let you know so know it's affecting me as well.

    Take care.

Thanks for the suggestion Andy. Above change made it worse not better.

made the above change - rebooted pc and verified the change was still in place and I now have worse upload speed - started upload at 24KB/sec and now up to 128KB/sec timer indicates 15 minutes to upload single 15.47mb file. I have cable ISP not dial-up. No apparent impact with other site usage. Sitting here with nothing running but this session and the upload.

    This load errored off:

Error writing request body to server

Well, I thought you requested my site's name. And I thought you appreciate to solve things here in the forum.
Obviously this is not a specific problem of just one or two users. Shouldn't we try to help each other in here??

I did write to the Heroes, we changed three mails. They didn't even know that there is a major Upload Problem.
I did exactly what they wanted me to do, I did all the tests and mailed over all the results. As I wrote is everything up and working and normal in the line between med and your servers.
Now I've been waiting for the Heroes response for 27 hours. I really don't complain. Things take time. It's just because you recommend something I've already done...for more than 27 hours ago.

Allright. Wait a minute. Around the globe? Are you sure "they" remember my answer? Don't know how your support system works. Look, I'm one customer with one singel problem...and I got answers from two different Heroes...wherever they are...around the globe.

Yup. And Sebastian from Germany just updated your ticket a few minutes ago. I'm very sorry that our reply last night didn't get through, we inadvertently updated the ticket with a 'message hidden' box checked. I'm very sorry about that.

Can you tell me what information to have ready for them so I don't waste their time or mine? TY!

Andy, I've just been on the SmugMug site and seen that you recommend the Star Explorer. Would that be a solution right now? Or would the Star Explorer be affected as well if the Simple uploader doesn't work at the moment?

It likely won't make a difference.... but you could try it (Nikolai has a free trial).

Many of the folks that were unable to upload are reporting that they are able to upload again. The folks that we've given a new, temporary method to upload, have been reporting that they are able to upload as well.

Are you still having trouble with failed uploads today, Tuesday, April 27th? If so, we need a couple of you to work on validating a new more permanent approach we want to take. It won't take long, likely just attempting a couple few new uploads with some new instructions from us. Even if you had the problem, and it's gone away, we'd love to have you test the new approach if you've got a few minutes later on today. ear.gif

I was thrillled with my upload rate and NO ERRORS last night after I followed some quick and easy instructions. Will I have to reset my server after 24 hours?

If we're not able to get this resolved before then, you'll just need to revisit that link once per day, while we continue to test and get out a permanent fix.

Just shout here or at the help desk with questions!
