I also switched to FF26 since the new uploader does not work with Opera anymore. Since i started with a new profile i did not have any more issues. The uploader works. I don't like the UI because that is horrible for long filenames, but i do not get any errors or such things.
I logged in via SM and thats all... everything is fine here...
I went ahead and upgraded Firefox a few weeks ago (and yes, purged every SM and personal domain related cookie). The problem seems to have shifted slightly. Rather than barfing during the upload, now it sometimes barfs when I try to navigate into galleries via the organizer.
To wit, when I go into my smug site, the usual toolbar showing I am logged in is present at the top of the screen. I select Organize, and get the overview page. But then if I try to expand a folder, I receive the following until I force a fresh login.
This might do with a new thread, but as it relates to my upload problems still, I'm tacking it on here.
Sidebar: I also seem to be needing to login every couple of days again.
not logged in upload failure
It's October 2014 and I'm experiencing the "We're sorry, but you don't appear to be logged in to that account. Please login and try again" error after trying to upload a file.
I've never had this problem before.
I've logged out of SM and deleted all SM cookies plus my domain name cookies. It still doesn't work. I can upload directly from PhotoShop Elements.

Is there a fix that works?
Using most recent update to Firefox.
Sometimes I find if I haven't re-logged in recently I'll get the same error message and I'll have to log back in to make it refresh the login credentials. For security purposes, re-logging in every so often is required. Just visit http://www.meadowneck.org/login and you'll be able to login. Then go back and try uploading and it should work.

leftquark: note that I indicated I did what was suggested in earlier posts: logging out of SM (smugmug) and deleting SM and my domain cookies. I tried to upload again today after having logged in and out and deleting cookies several times. It still doesn't work in the newest version of Firefox. It works fine in Chrome.

Do you have the "Keep me logged in" button checked when you login?

The latest and greatest FF beta version is 34. I've used this version to upload recently with no problems.
What add-ons or extensions do you have installed? Anything privacy related (BetterPrivacy, Disconnect, Ghostery, ...) that might prevent you from uploading? When you say it doesn't work, what happens? Are you able to select files? What about drag and drop? Or do you get the "log in" message?
Do you have any saved passwords that are out of date? Whether in Firefox or any other password management tool?

For the record, I've already tried deleting cookies, clearing the cache and logging back in. Every few months I try all this again and every time I get the same result. From my own domain name, uploads always fail with the message:
"We're sorry, you don't appear to be logged in to that account. Please login and try again."
If I change the address to user.smugmug.com, uploads work.
The problem seems exclusive to Firefox, as Chrome works fine. Disabling plugins in Firefox does not resolve it.
I'll pass this along to Engineering and see if anyone else has seen it. The Heroes haven't seen any other instances of this across the help desk but that doesn't necessarily mean everything is working fine. I'll see if we need any other information to debug it. Stay tuned.
not logged in upload failure
Have had problems with the uploader before. Here's another.
Logged into my SmugMug account. From the home page, I tried to upload a photo to the 'My SmugMug Site Files' gallery. When the photo was finished uploading, I got this failure message: "We're sorry, but you don't appear to be logged in to that account. Please login and try again." I went directly to the gallery and tried uploading a photos from there. Same error message. I am, without a doubt logged into my account - how else would I be able to see a private gallery reserved only for the site owner!
Same error message occurs when I drag and drop a photo into the same gallery.
BTW, was in My SmugMug Site Files gallery and then I logged out of my account. The gallery was still visible but without the owner management buttons. This gallery is for my eyes only, why was it visible once I logged out of my account?

I believe your site files gallery is unlisted. Unlisted galleries are visible when you are not logged in as long as the URL includes the key value.
If you are using a auto fill password feature can you try turning that off as a test and then see if you still have trouble with uploading and staying logged in?

Do you happen to know if you have your browser settings, or a browser extension, that disables Third Party cookies? We have a known issue where the uploader sometimes won't work due to issues transferring the cookie. Enabling third party cookies can fix the issue.

Teach,
Using autofill username and password in most recent version of Firefox. I went into Options/Security and removed the smumug entry. It had no effect. Uploads still did not work.

Leftquark,
Am using most recent version of Firefox with Options/Privacy/History set to "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" This allows custom setting for cookies. "Accept cookies from sites" is checked. With the "Accept third-party cookies" set to "Never," the uploader fails. I changed the "Accept third-party cookies" to "From Visited" and the uploader worked.
This is the third time I've tried to post a reply. The site has had errors each other time.
I'm using Chrome and Firefox. All other websites are fine, and uploads are fine to Zenfolio, Flickr, and YouTube. All with no errors, and at the usual speed. I have also had a customer tell me that they aren't able to access my site.
As an update, it still doesn't work (uploads or Dgrin) on Chrome or Firefox, but works on the new 'experimental' browser called Vivaldi - developed by the guy who originally did Opera.

Do you use a custom domain on your site? If so, can you check your cookie settings? Make sure your browser is set to accept all cookies, including third party cookies. If you block third party cookies on a site with a custom domain, it may prevent the uploader from working properly.

Well I'll be damned, that was it right there. Thanks for this info.
For those that don't want to enable third party cookies globally, go to Options > Privacy and add the following to the cookie exceptions list as "Allow":
cdn.smugmug.com
secure.smugmug.com
upload.smugmug.com
[yourcustomdomain].com
That might be a few more subdomains than necessary, but it works.
For some users who are behind a corporate firewall, or a small business firewall, we had to add *.vphosted in the proxy exceptions list for uploads to work with the new SmugMug version. We use a Watchguard Router.

Have you logged out, removed all smugmug.com and custom domain cookies, and logged back in again?
If you've done that, can you tell us about your OS platform and any plug-in/extensions you've installed for Firefox?
I'll give it a try and let you know what happens.
