This is my first ever contest entry, and my official delurk post for dgrin. I had hoped to post several photos I was contemplating for this contest, but I simply ran out of time so I just went with the one I liked the most.

OK. I've spent entirely too much time on getting this shot. 8 hours yesterday (it rained) and another 45 minutes in the sun this morning. My vision was a drop of water suspended in mid air with the flower focused inside it. While I keep getting closer to controlling all the variables, this is the shot that comes closest to what I wanted, but just misses the mark.

    Shot on 7-9-2006
Shot with Nikon D200, Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8 ED
Shot in Raw, Manual Program (1/2000 F11 ISO 1600)
Manipulated in Capture (Exposure compensation, Noise Reduction and Curves)

it's not the size of the lens that matters... It's how you focus it.
