i have one question about Photoshop on the mac pro (and probably mac book pro)
i have a Windows version of CS2, if now i buy a mac pro, can i transfer my license or do i have to buy a new CS2 that runs on Mac?
and, will a PowerPC based CS2 run on the new Mac Pro?

Mac Pro, 3ghz arrived.

Again, Apple is just sooooo darn easy to work with. Open box. Plug stuff in. Turn it on. It self-updates, and in like, 5 minutes I was in business.

Oh and it's pretty durn fast, too

WindowDragon allows you to resize your windows from anywhere in the window with a modifier/drag.

I was reading a "move from windows to mac" thing, and there were a bunch of tips to help ease the transition. This was one of them.

Thanks, David. I've avoided haxies but with your recommendation I installed the Application Enhancer and WindowDragon and all works great.

I haven't had any problems with them, and I've been more and more daring about installing them.

MacBook Firmware update available via Software Update.

It is a strange restart when it installs the firmware, my fans were on full power. :yikes Once it finished rebooting everything seems fine. Time to see if it still mooo's.

More info here from Apple and here from TUAW, check out the comments, no moooing and cooler temps being reported. I will see soon.

How do you reset PRAM in a MacBook?

Is it:

1. Locate the following keys on your keyboard - Command (Apple), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 2.

2. Restart your Macintosh and hold down the Command-Option-P-R key combination. You must press this key combination before the Welcome to Macintosh screen appears.

3. Hold the keys down until the Macintosh restarts itself four times.

4. Release the keys after the Macintosh restarts four times.

Yes, that's true of any Mac, BTW.

The four times thing....each time it does that it goes deeper. Four is a safe number.

Why do you want to do that? Are you having problems?

No harm in doing it, really, but a waste of time unless it's indicated by problems.

I'm a real believer that you don't really know anything until you destroy it.

For example, I'm on a mission to know myself.

Actually, one of the guys in Patch's link (why are all geeks guys?) said after the Macbook upgrade he had a black screen and had to PRAM. Just wanted to know what it was, I hate feeling panic when I update at 2am.

Since the Firmware update on my MacBook, I do think that it is running cooler. Time will tell, but so far it seems better.

Mine too. It's not ice cold, but it definitely doesn't get as hot as before.
