typing is slow in dgrin... i have in prefs "autofill" for forms turned off.
what else should i do?
Hey, what are you trying to do, hijack this thread? The title clearly states that this is for UNSOLICITED advice. So stop soliciting.
Clearly, I do not know the answer to your question.
User CP -> Edit Options -> Misc Options -> Basic Editor.
Thats all you need. You probably just type in your special smilies anyway.
i have no snapz thingie and how d'you make grab work?
Once you have the frame or screen you want to capture, go to the Applications folder, to the Utilities folder and click on Grab. (It is a good time to create an alias for Grab for your desktop also so you don't have to drill down into the Utilites folder again to find Grab).
Now look at the top most portion of your screen, and it should say Grab right to the left of the little blue Apple icon (If it doesn't say Grab, click on it in your Dock).
Click on Capture and choose Selection, Window, Screen, Timed Selection. Click on whichever you want and follow the bouncing ball. It is straight forward from that point. When you save the image it is saved as a .tiff so you will need to bring it into PS to convert to a jpg like this one I captured of this screen right here in the reply box.
would you apple people please start guessing what my questions are?
Or you could use keyboard shortcuts.
1.) Command (Apple key) + Shift + 3 = Entire screen
2.) Command (Apple key) + Shift + 4 = You can use the mouse to select what you want.
be careful what you wish for, andrew.
Why did I wait so long to switch to Mac? :-)
i ordered for $20 the ilife disks (shipping only) on saturday by web order from apple, the disks were sitting in my mailbox when i got home.
Andy, it's time you got some ink.
and some of them are a bit of a turn on
boy does that suck when Apple makes changes to their logo.
I love my mac, just not sure if I love it that much.
Did you start using Tabs in Safari yet? If not, get on it!
You can find all the settings in the Preference window of Safari. Its the best way to keep 20+ window organized.
You know I had to switch to OSX so quickly, there's a lot I'm not up on, and now they want to introduce Tiger.... geesh!
But what the heck are tabs in Safari?
I haven't gotten far in my OSX book yet.. just finished reading about how to mouse...
OK, here's nother unsolicited tip.
The Dock. Cool. Snazzy. Maybe a little too snazzy?
Here's my tip. You can access all of the dock prefs by right clicking on the divider. If you just plain ol' click on the divider, you can drag and resize your dock.
Here's what I recommend: turn off hiding and magnification. It's just too hard to chase the dock around, and all the icons just get too squirrely. Then place the dock where you want it (left, bottom, or right) and make it as small as you can (and still see it well enough for it to be useful.)
That's it. Just take some of the bells and whistles off of your dock, and make it unobtrusive.
I love the dock magnification! haha
