Re: What lens to add? (nikon)
I'd 2nd/3rd the suggestion to consider the 70-300VRII... It'll be a great compliment to your existing lens; will work on your D40 as its an AF-s with in-lens AF motor and has good IQ. http://www.photozone.de/active/survey/querylens.jsp User-Reports IQ at 70-mm (Wide/Stopped Down v 300-mm (Wide/Stopped Down) as 85/96 v… -
Re: Orlando area wedding photogs?
hello Hey Matt, Sorry to hear about this. I have aging parents as well (83 year olds) its very sad to watch them get old. What a difficult situation you are in. Prayers for you to make the right decision for all involved. Klinh and I will both keep our eyes and ears open and let you know if we find out anything for you.… -
Re: A few landscapes from a close friend
I hear ya. I actually have that shot in my bedroom. Here's a couple of links to what it looks like from my photobucket. If you know the location, then you've probably figured out that it was done from the other side of the PCH, up on the side of the hill, not inside the park itself. Anyway, here it is framed in my house… -
Re: upload timeout - tracert included
I am not sure what this tells you, since my tracert is complete, but I can only occasionally access my page. And, when I am lucky enough to connect there are many errors--most importantly, no photos show up. I have tried Mozilla, Firefox and IE from 3 seperate computers in my house with the same result. Below is my tracert… -
Re: A little from last year's summer
Nice stuff. I especially like 9/10 25, 29 (ballsy... I'm always too afraid to go get that shot), 37, 42 is money, 45, 48, 51 (though her mouth is controrted a bit too much for my tastes... a milisecond before or after might have been a better shot, but you can never know at the time) 65 might make a great back cover for… -
Re: Plain hood for 70-200 f/2.8
What's the item number on the hood (eg. ET-83b) I believe it goes E (eos) T or S or W (tele or standard or wide) 83, 72, etc (diameter of the bayonet mount) and I II III, etc (if there are multiple hood designs that share specs) I'm certain an f4 hood won't fit, but maybe there's a type you like that has the right bayonet… -
Re: I've had it... Not using SM for sales anymore...
I don't get it! What is the problem here. So I set my prices based on how much profit I want to make. So lets say my print is US$100 and I make US$75. Now if I were to offer the same print to someone in AUD I still want to make $US75 so for anyone in Aus the price would be AU$110. So who cares what currency the shopping… -
Re: What is "Apply Image" really doing?
You can probably bet on that being the fact. The processes going on in-camera to build that JPEG is very complex and sophisticated (and proprietary). That's why you don't hear people in mass scream about how they hate the JPEGs, they are often quite good (making me wonder why so many techniques are out there to fix these… -
Re: Slowwww
I'm only a trial account now but... ...(nor am I complaining about speed, other than the "Processing Photo" after uploading) but here are my results for Massachusetts: Last Result: Download Speed: 347 kbps (43.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 111 kbps (13.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Tracing route to hera.smugmug.com… -
Re: 70-300 mm, Nikon or Tamron
jziegler From another forum someone has posted some sites for me to check info concerning the Tamron lens, it looks very impressive, the lens is sharp and according to these tests, at 300mm it beats the Nikon hands down! Check it your self. http://www.durys.com/blog/?p=83 http://photo.net/equipment/tamron/70-300di-vc/…
