Re: 2015 Mid-Atlantic Air Museum WWII Weekend - Reading, PA
Great stuff, John. I was glad to read of the Black Widow....one of the best night fighters ever built. I hope I get to see it fly one day. The shot of the Helldiver and the Dauntless would have pleased Hal Buell. He flew both in the Pacific battles of WW11. I got to know Hal well before he died...at 93 years of age. He was… -
Re: Baa Baa Black Sheep
Fine shot of the Corsair. I was just as interested, though, in the background map. I'm an absolute fanatic about military aviation in WWII....particularly in the PTO ( Pacific Theater of Operations ). This nation lost one of its most celebrated WWII Naval aviators not long ago. His name was Hal Buell. He was a dive bomber… -

Re: Steal their ideas...
I may have to try smugbrowser, I just uploaded 3000+images with send to smugmug and it took a little over 4 days. On SM's part it would make sense to have smaller images load up..saving on there space. Out of the 5000 hockey photos loaded I have only sold 120 so the rest are taking up space. At work we just went through… -
Re: PS and LR monthly plan
Please do remember that card quality and card compatibility with your camera should be the dominant factors in your purchase decision, not price. Purchasing a 16GB card masquerading as a 64GB card is fairly common on the Internet, and the only sure way to know that you are purchasing a quality card is to purchase through… -
Re: In color management hell!! Please help.
Thanks for the reply newsy... For the 3 channels on the HP monitor, the max value is 255 per channel. For the Spyder3, there is a way it will display the lumince value during calibration. It doesn't stop me, or warn me its too low. It just proceeds. Yes, I know the Brigthness is WAAAY off. I am in a completly dark room… -
Re: Canon dSLR: 7d vs. 1d2 vs.... ahh!
In good light the Canon 7D has excellent AF performance. In low light and indoors the 1D series (starting with the 1D MKII) beats the 7D handily in both AF speed and AF accuracy. The reason is that the 1D/1Ds cameras have a completely different type of AF sensor than does the 7D. The Area-SIR AF is only available on the… -

Re: Portrait studio lights help
The softer the light source, the less it's going to highlight the wrinkles, texture, and imperfections on a person's face. So if I had a subject with bad skin I would go for a large light source, because larger light sources (relative to the subject) are softer. Of course, the sun is the largest light source around, but…
