Re: Smallest DSLR combo ever
Why waste $200 on kit lenses if you want the 14-54? Either: 1) it's not needed. IQ of the kits is said to be really good--especially stopped down two f/s. They're just not fast. --or 2) You need the quality of the pro lens, so why bother with the kits? IQ of the 14-54 is said to be better wide open than the 14-42 stopped… -

Re: Digital SLRs and high speed lenses
Yep, I know that feeling. I just hope the freight train stops by you first... I thought when I went with the Oly E-1 and the 14-54 and 50-200 I'd be done. Since then I've bought two backpacks (one for hiking, one for city dwelling), one tripod, have ordered a teleconverter, am saving up for a macro lens and extension tube,… -

Re: 2 New Olympus SLRs
1) I don't know. I just know I'd really like to have the same ergonomics and weather proofing as in my E-1. If not, the E510 would be a nice candidate. 2) I'm not so sure it'll be a kit. In this range, it could be primarily sold body only. But if it goes like with the E-1 and the 14-54, the 12-60 might be a good kit lens.… -
