Re: Best way to reduce image dimensions in PS?
Yes, that certainly is very dry reading! And I'm not sure what the conclusion is! I guess I was just kinda wondering, seeing as how we have to throw pixels away when downsizing, whether there's any advantage in throwing out (say) every second one (reducing by exactly 50%), rather than reducing by 54%, or 62%, or some other… -
Re: Want to setup another website...
Hi Charles, Do you have the CNAME and Forwarding settings configured correctly with godaddy? You will need to get those set up first before you can add the domain into your SmugMug account Settings. We've got a great video on how to get that all set up here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ-LCb5PO_E&feature=youtu.be&t=54… -
Shake free image at 1/3s handheld without IS/VR???
Moving to an Oly E1 from my Pana FZ10 there were three things that I was going really miss - that lovely Leica designed f2.8 lens, Livepreview and Pana's IS. I still miss Liveview and IS a lot, although I've now got the 14-54 Zd but I never thought it possible to get sharp blur free images at 1/20s or slower without IS but… -
BBIF (finally!)
I swear it's by utter luck that I managed to catch a bee in flight a few days ago. I was trying out my Olympus 14-54 lens, when I caught a bee in a flower. I pressed the shutter and the burst mode gave me two images, that were very close, but gave very different impressions. 13:23:17 13:23:19 The shot is a bit cropped (the… -
Laying on the ground and climbing a ladder
I got a little time to take some pictures today, It was getting late and the light was fading, I really like the Olympus E-1 and 14-54 in these conditions. No post work except crop and resize. These Jack-in-the-pulpits only last about 2 weeks then they die and the leaves remain producing a cluster of red berries in the… -
Softlighter + 1 kid
Playing around with my new 54" Softlighter powered by a Speedlight, and a single reflector. I realize I need a background, so please try to overlook that. Otherwise, would love to hear your comments. Canon 5DMII, and mostly the Canon 50mm F1.4 lens although I used the 24-105 on some of them. (The 50mm worked better.) I… -
A Few Car Shots from Yesterday.
I happened upon an impromtu car show put on by a family having a reunion. They allowed me the opportunity to take a few photos. Here are a few of them. Here are some of the family members. :D The moment I finished, the family poured into the four cars and drove away. The cars included a '49 (?) Ford woody (green car), a… -
Simultaneous Sunrise Moonset
I recently had what was for me a very unique photographic opportunity. We were on vacation in Rockport Mass just north of Boston staying at this wonderful victorian B&B. At the top left there is an open sun deck which offers unrestricted views to the east, south, and west. One morning I rose early to catch the sunrise and…
