Re: What camera question by PM
Mandy, The T70 is an FD series body and uses/used FD mount lenses. While you can get an adapter to allow you to mount the old lenses, you won't be happy with that combination. The optical quality of the adapter is poor, it acts as a teleconverter of about 1.3x but loses a full f stop and you don't get automatic aperture.… -

Re: Practising with portraits
You have to learn to trust your numbers. Had you done so, your analysis of the original would have prompted a couple of different steps. In the light regions under her left eye (on the right side of the image) I'm reading a fair balance of magenta and yellow (35 and 39, respectively) but virtually no cyan. Dan's portrait… -

Dgrin Mini-Challenge #273 – THE MILITARY - RESULTS
Everyone, thanks for participating in this challenge. Some comments: Cavalier: Jo, I really liked the pictures from Castle Air Force Museum. I was there myself in 2011 and was impressed with the size of some of those aircraft. The B-52 and B-36 are huge. Another nice museum is at March Airfield. There you can get up close… -
What's happening here??
Seeing something weird in my statcounter stats... (not sure if this will copy/paste right...) I see the word "Original" showing up a lot, on a gallery that I definitely do NOT have originals enabled. How would this happen? I am really confused! <table class="standard"><tbody><tr><td class="tableContent2Left">29th June… -
Re: Dayton Airshow 2009
Very nice work, Chris! You did a good job dealing with the weather! I've been shooting with the 100-400L for about 4 years now, it's my "go-to" lens for aviation work. You carry it around all day at an airshow, and eventually you get used to the weight, but it's a great lens for that use. On the Thunderbird cross-over, I… -

Re: Need Advice on New Body & Lens - Nikon
I have a D300s and a Sigma 70-200 2.8 (older non-OS version.) Mainly I use it to shoot indoor sports like water polo, some concerts, kids' plays, and general family stuff. To some extent I think the answer you're looking for depends on how you prioritize the five complaints in your main post. Here are my thoughts: The…
