Re: Mini Challenge #138 - Implied Connections
And The Winner Is 1st Thank You ALL for participating in this "Mini". As always with our members here you all present beautiful images worth looking at again and again! I will say that as a whole many of the images seemed a bit more "Litteral" then "Implied". :D HM's should go to everybody but.................... ghinson's… -
Re: Portland Head Light
Jack, That's one of the fun things with photography. We can always learn and grow. I think I can help you at least in part with some recommendations that won't break the bank (i.e. 14-24). A great third party wide angle which I purchased after the Sigma 10-20 was the Tokina 12-24 f4. The difference between the two was… -
Re: Suggestions for remote wireless release?
Frustrated in Canada So - I bought a set of Cameron RF Trigger / Receivers from our local camera store (45 miles away). Got home, batteries in (you know - the expensive ones), and pushed the test button. Nothing. Phone call to the camera store - several hours and a $16 courier charge on top of the $16 price I received a… -
Re: Floridian Neighbors
Thanks for the kind words folks. I am pretty lucky to have such a "backyard". :D I just wish there were no seawalls, houses, telephone wires, sheds, etc etc. It makes shooting a "natural" looking wildlife shot rather tricky. Too many good captures have been ruined with "baground junk". I really need to get out more often.… -

New toy
Since I got a nice little paid gig a couple weeks ago, I decided to reward myself with some new studio gear. Most of it was not something to write home about, but one thing definitely got me jumping. Here it is: 1: The new little (or in fact rather "big") brother: 7' octabox from Amvona, next to its old (now "little")… -

Re: Blurb giving SmugMuggers 500 Free books!!
I got my blurb book last week. The quality is good, although I was a bit startled to find no name on the actual cover of the book. Yes, the name is on the book jacket, but lose that and the book is unidentifiable. I suppose that's not a huge issue - think I'll try a softcover book the next time. So yes, I'm going to try at… -
