Re: Ole Lucky 13.....A Worn-Out Warrior
Hi Randy, I hear you about the pain.....I had a '74 Trans Am 455 SD; certainly one of the all-time favorite cars I've owned. I spend so much time roving the back roads and countryside of the Blue Ridge Mountains that I can't help but come across this kind of scene on a regular basis. Old cars, trucks, and other equipment… -
Re: McGuire AFB Air Show
Fine shots, Moose! And they bring back memories, too. I worked on F-4Es at Seymour Johnson and if I'm not mistaken, I worked on that very tail number many times. According to the records I've been able to Google up, #74-1626 was transferred to AMARC on May 24th, 1990...right about the time we were replacing our Phantoms… -
Re: Layafette Cemetery No 1.............IR
Howdy You, :D I seem to be wide awake at 3am :D:D:D Hopefully my hours might be changing soon, trying not to get too excited but will be nice. If so we can get out and Shoot some, I've definitely missed it, and maybe we can get a few shots in before it's 108 like last time :D:D:D Have a great weekend, looks like we're in… -
Ch.74 - neon - "Into the Light"
Alright folks. My first try at this week's challenge. On this photo, is DJ Keoki on the 1s and 2s. When I first took the photo, I thought the spotlight in the back ruined it, but instead it made it into a whole new/diff photo. Anything to change? I already softned up the light a little by doing a bit of smudging. What you… -
Uploading: Read timed out
I have attempted to upload 74 pictures to a new gallery using the default Drag'N'Drop uploader and I am getting the error mentioned in the title of this post. Some of the pictures will upload, but then some of those will be duplicates. My largest image is ~3.5 MB, so sizing should not be an issue since I have a Power… -
Re: SmugMug Network Connectivity Issues
I'm getting the same thing. Smugmug loads really slow or not at all. Hope this helps. From Chicago suburbs using Comcast. Tracing route to hera.smugmug.com [63.81.134.23] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 * * * Request timed out. 2 11 ms 10 ms 11 ms GE-2-6-ur01.elmhurst.il.chicago.comcast.net [68.86.115.209] 3 * * 10 ms… -
Re: 40D in my hand!
Nope! Unless you count one more click of the control dial as annoying. Turning this on will disable ISO 100 and ISO 3200 (if it's enabled in the first place), and change the tone curve, making images slightly dimmer/less crisp, but helps avoid blowing highlights. It also seems to affect the buffer a tiny bit, so the number… -
Re: DSS #54 Unofficial Feedback Thread (Visual Cliché)
Not trying to single anyone out but many of the recent posts are exactly what I was referring to. They are off topic for this thread and so I have moved them to general discussion starting on page 74 where you are very welcome to continue the conversation. Any further posts that do not give specific feedback for the… -
Re: Heads Up: New Default Uploader
I have tried to load 125 pictures. Only 74 loaded. All the rest came as errors and read "read timed out". I have downloaded java, reconnected to the internet, tried to load the same pictures a couple of times and the same thing. I ended up using the old internet explorer loader and it worked but the pictures didn't show up… -
Re: Westcott Apollo Orb
Quality of light is fine. You got what an octabox would give you: broad and diffused light. Hope you picked a model which comes with grid so you can further control the light. There are 47" octaboxes on eBay for $74 which come with grid. If you need more localized light 2x3' or 3x4' softboxes with grid might be also a good…
