Are 1/2 EV stops 'real'?
My Canon 50D offers two options for exposure steps: 1/3 and 1/2. I've always stuck to 1/3 but wonder if there is a reason to not switch to 1/2. My main reason for doing so would be to bracket more easily for HDR shots. In order to get a full range of exposures, I figure I need to shoot at -3 EC at +/- 1 EV then at 0 and at… -

FS: Nikon D50 w/ Tamron 18-200 + more
For sale is one Nikon D50 in brand new condition. This camera has been used but in just under a year, only has 1733 shutter clicks. I bought the camera in hopes of being re-inspired to photography. The camera and lens combination produce great quality photos but I am not getting the use I should be from it. I hope to sell… -
Lactarius mairei
This is a very rare species, “vulnerable” on the Red Data List. It can be found growing in association with oak trees on calcareous soils. Although I visit many mushroom-rich locations within about an hour’s drive from home, I know of only one place where I can find it, in South Oxfordshire. I found it (was guided to it)… -

Lycogala exiguum
This slime mould looks very similar to L.epidendrum and lives in similar habitats (on rotten wood). The difference is that it has the persistent, angular, orange scales when mature. These were found recently in an Ancient Woodland. Field images (first 2): Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/60… -
