DSS#92 Do any of these work better?
Since turning your monitor over to see the effect of the illusion is somewhat impractical, I've taken SeascapeS earlier suggestion to do a "side-by-side." I also tried a version without the busy background and I'm looking for feedback. Preferences anyone? Are the arrows necessary or helpful at all? Is the side-by-side… -
DSS 92 - Tiny dancer
Finally have a bit of time to play & would like some feedback as to whether these might work? I really tried to get the "actual" shot of a dancer in a hand in the auditorium but when the dancer was small enough to fit in the hand & I focussed on the dancer on the stage, the hand was so blurred you couldn't tell what it… -
Re: Chapter 4, Professional Photoshop, 5th Edition
I haven't done it, but if it bothers you, set a highlight and shadow in RGB, and pick info points at the highlight and shadow. Now switch the info tool to display lab for those points instead of RGB. Voila, you now know what the lab equivilent of 245,245,245 and 15,15,15 (or whatever) is. I've pretty much settled on… -
Re: The Southwest
Thanks Eric, for viewing and commenting. Other than the occasional scramble, my last serious climb was in "92" Thanks Lee. Heading out mid May for 8 weeks, starting with Silver Falls State Park, then east thru the gorge, continuing east to Moab. Then down to Durango and north thru Colorado, Wyoming and on towards Glacier.… -
Re: Taxes
So, according to Texas, Smugmug is a hosting site that collects a fee from me, rather than me earning a commission. I don't call up someone after the fact to collect. I consider my online prices to include tax, so out of $100 order, the sale price is actually $92 and some change and the rest is tax (those numbers are… -

Re: Limit to editing elderly folks images?
Here's a sample of one I did... This gentlemen was almost 92 when he died. I knew him. He was in the first wave of U.S. troops that landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day, and he never tried to mask signs of aging, so I didn't either. I just removed a few blemishes and left the wrinkles intact. It was done after he died, but I… -
What are these links to my pages? (hack/feed.mg?Type=keyword&Data)
I'm using Google Webmaster Tools to check on links to my smugmug pages.... I have over 11,000 links like this: http://www.boyershots.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=keyword&Data=105&format=atom10&start=90&PageCount=92 All the domains seem to be smugmug domains, or domains that point back to smugmug... When I go to the link, it is… -
upload error using LR3 publish services
Hi. I've been away from DGrin and my personal smugmug site for a bit now, so I'm not exactly up to speed. I'm having difficulty uploading with the Lightroom 3 Publish Services. I'm getting a successful run of two, three, maybe 4 photos (I'm attempting to upload 92). I then get the following error: Can't update this… -
Re: Lightroom not carrying Develop settings into SmugMug
Yeah, that's standard LR functionality rather than something we implemented. In regard to removing and republishing, you don't have to do that...you can simply select the photos and right-click and select "Mark to Republish". And undo that by selecting "Mark as Up-To-Date". You don't really need to save with 100% quality,…
