Re: upload timeout - tracert included
I am not sure what this tells you, since my tracert is complete, but I can only occasionally access my page. And, when I am lucky enough to connect there are many errors--most importantly, no photos show up. I have tried Mozilla, Firefox and IE from 3 seperate computers in my house with the same result. Below is my tracert… -
Re: Slow Smugmug
I am also having a big speed problem. I noticed it first yesterday from a friends cable modem. I still had the slowness when I got home where I also have a cable modem. And at work this morning some of my galleries are still very slow. A page of thumbnails can take more than 30 seconds to load. I am on a very fast… -
Re: [Implemented] CSS Flow Down
We really need this set as a high priority. Example, changing the logo for individual galleries and folders to flow down. I have 91 sub-folders and 890 galleries in this top folder. The only way now to change the logo is one by one or add CSS like this. Here's 17 done with only a lot lot lot more to go..sm-page-node-2GxbX… -
Re: what computer stuff to get?
I agree with pyry. The HP 2509m is not even close to a decent monitor for image editing. It is just OK; the market it is aimed at is the 1080p video watching crowd and gamers. Main short coming for image editing/viewing? - 6bit TN TFT LCD panel. - also 1920x1080 native resolution Personally I'd take a smaller 22" 1680x1050… -

Re: Ever lost a lens? I did!
Thanks for all the examples, suggestions, kind words, etc! And good gosh, now I know that Cameras are Made to die, but lenses???? Never knew that. After great anguish, I have remembered that my father, my age at the time (very old, lol), left his camera w lens, of course, on a tripod in a field in Switzerland. That story… -
Re: Glacier Shootout - woulda shoulda -if only-
But it's a HUGE CF tripod and weighed a good bit more than my smaller, cheaper aluminium one. My bag weighed less, I had two bodies, four lenses, four batteries, assorted filters (most of which I didn't use, but I loved the grad ND)! On days when I didn't think we'd be shooting waterfalls or that I knew we'd be hiking long… -
Re: SmugMug seeming VERY slow lately...
Hi Andy - thanks for the quick response - I was afraid that would be your answer :) As I'm sure smugmug isn't a "slow site". I'm a network technician - so feel free to ask me for anything network related without long instruction :) I'm running my trace route from work right now... I'll run another trace route from my… -
Winners Of Mini Challenge #90
I came home from work and fired up the "puter" I thought I'd have a relaxing time, viewing and enjoying the shots from the MC. (Mini Challenge) After looking through the shots .... for the 4th time, I realize that no matter how many HM's I hand out, it's not enough. If you folks go back and look through what I post, you'll… -
Re: Crows, Ravens?
The simple use of "black bird" will get you off the hook. I hate these birds. They are down here by the millions. They are taking over the area. Reminds me of a Hitchcock movie when I'm out walking to find the "real birds". These are the only birds I'd consider shooting or throwing rocks at. :uhoh They are noisy and…
