**Challenge 23 - Comments by Snapapple**
JUDGES COMMENTS: Well folks, I’m not Andy by a long shot. But, since most people want to know, I’ll try to give a reason, as I see it, for not making the final cut. I hope it's not too harsh. Remember, I am only one person and one opinion. It’s a critique of only one shot, and does not reflect on you personally or as a… -
The Road From Zion
Vacation day in Denver. The wife awoke at 3:00am in Florida. She was snowed out of Denver for 2 days forcing us to cancel one day of the trip to Utah. Her airplane landed at 9:00am and were on the road in no time, the wife packed in the back seat asleep. We took to the road in east Denver in overcast skies. No time to stop… -
Re: Cartier-Bresson - Why Are These Great Photos?
Some bad scans of some great images OK, Sid, you asked for it (twice). But this time I'll try to use more pictures and fewer words. I have four Cartier-Bresson books:* The Decisive Moment, 1952. This is a very rare book. Alibris has two for > $400 each. Amazon doesn't even know about it (but they do have a wall calander… -
>>> Semifinal #1 feedback thread
Being a semifinal, and the stakes and expectations are higher, I am going to be a little more critical than usual, and since there are fewer entries, I can spend more time with each one too. Post# - Photog - Title 2 - Dalantech - Spring It's pretty, but lacks something unknown for me. I stopped to look at it but in the end… -

Love the color and composition 4 - b3nj4m - Pen-ee S Nice photo, but didn't strike me as suggesting the theme to me. 5 - ChrisJ - disjointed Irregular for sure, but didn't do anything for me. 6 - Tentacion - Security Blanket I am… -
Re: Meta Data not fully supported?
Aaron, thank you for replying extensively, I appreciate it. You are correct, examining the physical photo files, I see they have forward slashes in Keywords. I keep saying back slash because that is what I see and use in my image organizing app JRiver Media Center 23. All my prior and current photos are tagged using this… -
Re: >DSS #7 (Communication - B&W): Feedback Thread
My Feedback First, I have to say what an amazingly tough round this was to judge. In my first pass, I had 48. In my second cut, I still had 22. Then I flip-flopped back and forth for quite some time before I finally settled on my ten. The I took some out, swapped them around, put some back again, got more frustrated, and… -
Re: monitorwent black
Here is a FAQ of sorts I've collected over the past couple of years. .................................................................................. In terms of image quality for photo editing, these are the TFT LCD panel types from best to worst: IPS (newer variants are S-IPS, AS-IPS, H-IPS, e-IPS, etc) PVA (newer… -
Re: What's happend to Smugmug...it won't load!!
Traceroute - no response from Smugmug.com Here's my traceroute, right now things stopped to work again. Identical for smugmug.com as well as for markusbrosch.smugmug.com. traceroute to http://www.smugmug.com (208.79.45.23), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 ... 15 all fine, then the craziness starts (load balancing route ?)…
