Re: 5D blue cast especially in the shade areas
If this was shot by skylight coming in through a window, then it was in shade, was it not? When I measure the whitish wooden front to the cabinet, it is not blue, but yellowish - typically 240,238, 218 in the first image and the second as well, but the electronic faces are definitely blue.. Did you try rebalancing the… -

Re: Is this what a dirty sensor would look like!?
I sent my 30D in for cleaning and calibration and paid $218 (inlcuding shipping). I am happy with the calibration, but my sensor came back dirty and they were unwilling to help me correct the problem. YMMV, but I am not pleased with my first use of Canon service. Another good way to spot the dust is shoot a clear blue sky… -
Re: SpeedTest - see how fast you are to SmugMug
A result from the UK. I am still seeing very slow speeds on a regular basis (= nothing at all shown 10 seconds after requesting a page). The response at the moment seems to match the speedtest (very good!) Last Result: Download Speed: 1871 kbps (233.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 218 kbps (27.3 KB/sec transfer rate)… -
Incorrect GPS coordinates
Hello All, I've noticed for quite some time that not all of my GPS data gets interpreted correctly. For example, in this gallery http://www.sarasphotos.de/PublicGalleries/BikingSWFrance2012/i-PsxHhVh photo 218 has "no map data" which is not true, photo 219 is set in Bavaria and not in southern France where it should be,… -

I have a like new 430-ex speedlite for sale. I bought it about 9 or 10 months ago in thailand. I guarantee it is a genuine canon speedlite. 40d with really right stuff L bracket, memory cards ....
I just ordered a 6d and need to sell my back up 40D. I bought this from a guy in a huge package deal and used it as a backup to my 7d. Everything I bought from him was in mint shape. The camera doesn't have any marks on it except a small scratch on the screen. I don't know the shutter count but the file numbers are 1100s.… -
Re: Buying a Camera? How To Not Get Ripped Off.
You mean these guys? Rating's low enough to concern me. They also show a RatingsPlanet link on their page, which is now a known bogus ratings site (BestPriceCamera--the best-known crooks online--show them as well). The oddity is their prices are close to being right, just under the best I've found at a reputable site… -
Re: Small Wyoming wildlife
Thanks for your comments Steve, and the concern about the brightness of the antelope shots. I clocked the whites in them and the tail in the first shot reads about 254,254,254 so I am near the edge, but the rest of the highlights on the goats only read 220, 218, 230 or so, so I thought they might get a bye. But I agree…
