>Congrats to: thebigsky for the winning DSS#8 Photo!
A massive congrats to our finalists for this round! :clap :clap :clap So many awesome shots, it was really, really tough to narrow it down. Karrie McD and I agreed on 4 images this time, giving you all 16 to chose your favorite from. The top 5 from this round will be qualified to play in the DSS Mega-Challenge #2. :barb… -
Re: Mini Challenge #338 - Weird, Strange, or One-of-a-kind Architecture.
Although weird and strange were challenging to find, I came up with several "one-of-a-kind" structures and narrowed my choice to three from France. 1) Chateau de Chambord: the hunting lodge for Francis I was constructed between 1519–1547 and has 440 rooms, 282 fireplaces, and 84 staircases. On my very first visit in 1989… -

Re: Customization Question
Hi :) That's exactly what I did. I created a main category, "Photos and More" and then sub-categories. Then I "hid" the categories on the home page (you are able to do that when you are logged in). It was a bit time consuming going into each gallery and changing it's corresponding category, etc., and I have nowhere near… -
Re: What's your story?
Well, I'm 40, live near Reading, UK (about 40 miles SW of London). Married with 4 Children and 1 grandson. I've been interested in Photography on and off since about 84 when I bought a Nikon FG20 (which I still have). I joined the digital age with a Casio QV4000 about 18 months ago, this really renewed my interest and goes… -
Re: having trouble moving photos
5000 images is the maximum that one gallery can hold. I did something similar and hit the same limitation. You may want to think about using Categories for the year and then galleries for the month. Another option and this might make your work flow simpler is you can create Smart Galleries that will follow rules or you can… -

Catalytic Converter Starts This Fire
Along I-84 just east of Boise. 1. Just getting broadside here. 2. Crew working the edge halfway from where the fire began. That line of cars behind me is about a mile long about this time. Some folks just gotta get home first I guess :scratch :roflI will admit it was as hot on that road waiting as being closer to that fire… -

Re: Tungsten to Compact Fluorescent
Note that the CRI is 84 for either of these, so that color accuracy is a potential problem, especially for flesh tones and pure colors. I suggest purchasing in moderation until you verify suitability to your task(s). That said, I do have a couple of lesser CF "Daylight" bulbs (from the local W-Mart) that I use with…
