Re: Switch to larger HDD
It seems that I always leave something out at the beginning! This time it was that this is my only current computer (old Win 98 has only been booted a time or two since getting this one) so a different kind of use than many laptops. Also, I am in the process of transferring data files to external drive that I am not likely… -

Re: Trying to Decide on a New Camera - XTi or 30D?
why not ebay ziggy! You say dont buy on ebay however 3 of the 4 you recommend sell on ebay, how ironic! Not being a, you know what. just your comment seems biased. I have purchased 98 percent of my gear off ebay and have Zero problems. if you do your research first then you know what your looking for and can steer clear of… -
Re: SmugMug Statistics
Windows XP. Windows 98. Windows 3.1. Windows. USS Iowa gun turret. Challenger. Apollo. Andrea Doria. Hindenberg. Empress of Ireland. (more people lost than Titanic :PPPP ). Edison wanted to go with DC. He used to electrocute stray dogs to show people the dangers of AC. Tesla was robbed! Someone shoot me now I'm afraid my… -
Re: Advice sought on photo prep for uploading
By the way, Adobe 98 isn't a good intermetiate color space if your work is just bound for display on the Internet or printing from commercial printers. Counterintuitively, it has fewer colors available for those applications. Here's why: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/sRGB-AdobeRGB1998.htm It is, however, good… -
Re: Nikon D5100 no high speed sync.
Just the few I took with that camera. I was mostly using the D700 98% of the time. When ever the D5100 detects that there is a flash attached and on, it limits itself to 1/200th of a second and just closes down the aperture when it is too bright. So, I got photos that were 1/200th sec. and f/11 to f/16 too often, making… -
Re: Chain gang
I'd say 'a bit' is being somewhat kind - considering how I check horizons nowadays :) I did ponder cropping / straightening it, but would lose more of the 'ng' than I'd like. It's a scan of a '98 slide, taken in the days when I used to have a cam with me - if I was going to do anything else with the pic, I'd remove the… -
Camera Color Spaces / Direct Printing
Hi folks... Here's my problem... I have a Nikon D70 and a Nikon D2h. I've found that uncorrected jpg files shot with either of the cameras using Adobe 98 as a color space, when printed at Sam's Club (and at least one other lab) on a Fuji Frontier printer when the printer applies auto color correction, the photos come out… -
Fri. Night High School Football......
Two games to go and finally a blow out. Almost every game has been 4th quarter come backs. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 I bumped the dial to 160s on accident on this one. #6 Being a blow out the coach started putting in the JV and in this one put in the freshman running back for a kick off. He broke 4 tackles and just did get caught at… -
#98 My attempts
This challenge has proven harder than I would have thought. All the first ideas I had were taken right away, as I am sure they were many of our first thoughts. I never dreamed it would be so hard to find contrasting colors. I guess the fact that I was trying to find something completely unique didn't help. I still have an…
