Not a Wedding but a Group Shot. Needs some help.
I have a gig for 3 large group shots in 2 different locations. It's a group of very tenured employees... 15-20 years. The shots will be printed at 16x20, framed and mounted in the lobby of their 3 locations. They will also be using me, in the future, for their corporate head shots and some environmental portraits so I want… -
Re: Newbie here, would love some advice!
I (and seemingly in the minority) think doing the course with a film camera will be a good choice. Having to do everything manually will help you to become a more proficient photographer. Also there are far too many digital shooters that rely on firing off a barrage photos of a subject, delete - take a heap more and hoping… -

Those are quite misleading in some ways, as any image viewed counts. Paging through a collage landscape, for example, rakes in the views. To put it in… -
Re: Most Suitable Tripod?
Vanguard Tripods I thought I would chime in here since I was recently in the same position. I'm 6'3" and wanted a tripod that was tall and had a center column that would move to different angles. I live in Iowa so we don't have camera stores with a large selection to try. But my local store had a few Induros, Manfrottos,… -
Re: Assignment #46: Feet
Crescent Moon Feet? I know this thread is a bit older, but I am just catching on to the assignment section of Dgrin. I saw the "feet" category a few days ago and really started thinking about how I might approach the subject. I wanted to push my creativity and not do a "normal" take on the subject. Whether or not it was… -
Re: How do I create a gallery filled with multiple galleries... ??
I think this is what I am looking for too. If not, my apoologies but my mind is little fraggled after two days of trying to get what I want out of SM pro trial before buying. If I am in a wrong thread can you point me to the correct one. My site is not a photographers site so I don't need everything that one of these might… -
Re: Sports action shots - football
I usually stand about 30 yards downfield of the QB, right on the sidelines. You'll need to adjust that distance at you "read" the team--if they run a lot, that works, if they are doing short passes, that works. As they get close to the goal line you may need to go further down to anticipate a pass...shorter if it's a 5…
