Far too much work lately
It's the month of June. Temperatures have been seen from 30 degrees to 146 degrees. And it is only midway through the 2008 race season. Yet some thrive in these conditions...snow, rain, sun, cold, hot...welcome to Survivor, Studio819 Edition!!! Pridmore in the desert of Utah adds some more heat Cuthbert....Duc no more… -
Re: Dgrin Meetups - Western US
Anyone attending the Adobe Lightroom Tour hosted by Scott Kelby? It's being held at the L.A. Convention Center next Wednesday, April 25th. He will be discussing his workflow from beginning to end using Lightroom and Photoshop. If I can get off I'm going. I haven't used Lightroom, but I have a free copy coming so will… -

The Duncan family
We met at Deming Park in Terre Haute, Indiana. The rain thankfully held off, but it was SO humid. The kids did really well though. By the time we finished, though, they were ready to be done. All of their children are so photogenic. There are six children and the baby is actually featured in my banner on my blog and… -
Re: Google is my paycheck!
haha... so get this... In the mail today I got a letter from Google. Apparently between July 1st, and September 30th, Google users found my business listing 1221 times, and asked for driving directions or other information about my business 146 times. I am a Favorite Place on Google now... They sent me a sticker to put in… -
Re: First tripod & Head - Recomendations and comments?
New Tripod I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. I needed a better tripod and had a limited budget. I bought the Manfrotto 486RC2 that everyone else has mentioned. I put it on a Manfrotto 190XPROB. Between the head and tripod, I paid about $220 at a local shop. I'm sitting here looking at the instruction manual for… -
Re: Canon Sensor Cleaning
OK, looks like some of you haven't read my first post and/or the post with the image in it. If you haven't already, please do so ;~). Now, blowing isn't working. Looks like I'll try a dry static swab thing. But I don't want to do a wet cleaning. So I've been reading on Copperhill, looks like they say to do mostly… -
Weekly Assignment #146: Dissolved Portrait
(Inspired by one of the last posts by Brian Laser, although many did use this technique before him) The idea is to place the subject relatively close to the background, put the camera on a tripod (or somehow else secure its position), take two images - one with the subject, one without it and finally blend them in your… -
Re: Classic Car Show
Hey Nik- Don't you just love but hate car shows? There are some really nice cars in that gallery of yours- I went through all 146. :D I like seeing the different styles you went for, reflections, details, low profile, etc. Looks like you ran into the usual car show issues though- cars to close together, people or their… -
Re: Pinnacales National Monument
Ian, I didn't go through the caves. The caves are on the way to the reservoir, and I didn’t go that way this time. The caves are pretty tight, and with my backpack, tripod, etc. would have been tough. You can go through the caves and continue on to the High peaks Trail, but the rout I too was plenty long enough for me. :D…
