Re: scrathed lens ! need help!!!
While all of these replies is good, if the lens is not worth repair but worth keeping, and if the scratch is deep enough to cause problems, you can minimize the problems by "filling" the scratch. Some large antique lenses had bubbles and other surface anomalies which the manufacturers simply filled with black paint. This… -
Photos won't watermark. Been trying for 6 hours now.
A huge list of photos from this gallery won't watermark. I've been trying for 6 hours now on a few of them. Basically it's any image in the gallery that doesn't yet have a watermark. For example.... images ending in 179, 142, 144, 149, 152, 153, 159, 161, 162, 162-2, 169....and the list goes on. Can anyone tell me what's… -
Re: Carolina Moon
Stan - your image is sharp, but lacks contrast, like Ginger's image. You must be shooting the same moon! :D When I clock your lightest pixels they are barely lighter than middle grey RGB values of 160, 155, 152 or therabouts. Your highlights on the moon should be near white 245,247, 250 or thereabouts. And then it would… -
Re: Old(ish) aeroplanes
Very cool! The first airplane is a 150 (not a 152), I think? but it may be the distortion from the wide angle lens making me think that. My back still hurts from flying those I like the backlight on it, it stands out nicely. The only nitpick I have is that the shadow of the nosewheel is a bit big, and taking a bit too much… -
Weekly Assignment #152: Sunset Silhouette

But... may there is some new kids on the block? :wink Let's make it easy this time: take your subject for a walk around a sunset and take her/his silhouette. Your subject should be a prominent part of the frame, not a spec in a corner.… -

Re: Announce Changes/Fixes Non moving Thread
I imagine a conversation like this has very likely occured... SMUGTECHIE: The users are demanding constant updates on all bugs, missing features, and fixes we make. They want an official list in a prominent place, easy to find. BALDY: How many bugs or missing features are there and how many have we fixed? SMUGTECHIE: We've… -
Re: The Big Sur
Brilliant set! I used to live in Monterey and would traverse Big Sur quite often. I'm also familiar with Hwy's 156 and 152. If you get a chance go down Hwy 198 off the 101 and head east. It was freshly repaved and is a dream to drive. In the middle of it, you'll find a place called Priest Valley Station. The only… -
Re: Content of Page to remain centred (Vertically)
This should get you pretty close: HTML <div class="content"> <h4><a href="mailto:shearerviljoen@gmail.com" target="_self">shearerviljoen@gmail.com</a></h4> <div class="section"> <h4>munich</h4> <h4>germany</h4> <h4>mobile: +49 152 07663856</h4> </div> <div class="section"> <h4>cape town</h4> <h4>south africa</h4>… -
Re: Is this purple fringing ?
* Change the blending mode of the layer to Color. * At this point you'll probalby be very happy and can quit. But I wanted to finish trying out Dan's technique and make sure to limit the blend to only the offending purple color. So I brought up the Blending Options dialog box (right mouse on the layer in the layer…
