British War Cemetery in Pakistan
Contains 232 burials from WW2 and WW1 of British nationals, it is located at heart of Rawalpindi surrounded with busy streets. This was my 1st ever visit to this graveyard and 1st ever experience of shooting at cemetery. I found it very interesting, though very simple place but i could have spent whole day trying different… -
Re: Convert GIF 89 to 87a ???
Looking at the content of a GIF, I see that the "GIF89a" is right in the very first bytes. You might try using a binary editor to change that to look like the earlier version. Or you might write (or pay someone to write) some code to make a utility to make the changes. I don't have a GIF87 to look at so I can only show you… -
Re: 7D Auto Focus
Matt, I am not questioning your experience, and I do understand your explanation, yet.....................based on this the 5D II should be better at capturing fast moving objects than ether the 7D or the 1D IV. I was (am) looking at the 7D as a sports camera. If I need to shoot at higher ISO (7D ISO performance less than… -
Re: Smugmug SLOOOOW (International Network Connectivity)
Smugmug is dead slow for me from Germany at the moment. Takes more than a minute for a user site to show up. Custom domains like mine and Andy's and the main page/ browse page are fine though! It's just the username.smugmug.com. I also noticed that my route to smugmug.com looks different. A couple of weeks ago I used to… -
Re: Mini Challenge #232: Ships and Boats
Mini Challenge #232: Ships and Boats Time's up - game over for the ships and boats mini challenge. As Ratty said to Mole in Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. I subscribe to that philosophy too, I lived aboard a yacht… -
Re: In color management hell!! Please help.
"-Spyder 3 Pro calibration device" The Spyder3 Pro, as I read the feature sheet, does not allow for measured calibration to a custom white luminance value. The Elite does. Some people have told me recently that the newest version of Pro software available off the Datacolor web site, allows for measured calibration. Others… -
Re: Show me the logos!
I saw some things and I had personal references. I told her what type of work I do, the feeling I wanted and whatnot, but no I did not give her examples of stuff I liked besides what I was using for now (her designs are not anything like what i'm using). I gave her my site, and she didn't ask any questions so I assumed… -
Re: Has anyone been able to get a good rating in the search engines?
Thanks Mike, He works as a Pro SEO. Anyway I agree about word of mouth, back in Portland it was all I had and it worked great. I also did do ads on craigslist while out there. It isn't big here in Florida. For example, when I was in Portland I would go to craigslist and look for Mustang parts. I would find five or more… -
company party shots
These are some shots from my company holiday party held at the Fairmont in San Jose this last weekend. I brought an umbrella setup for fun as well. I think they turned out smashingly but I sooo wish I had brought some gels. The tungsten lighting was very very orange and I had difficult time blancing my flash. So many of my… -
PC System Build / Quiet but Powerful
My old PC needed an upgrade... I'd been gradually upgrading components but I finally decided that my motherboard/cpu were too dated (Athlon XP 2700+). As an IT professional, I know a lot about components, but I still did a lot of research to build the right system for me. My goal was Quiet but Powerful, some compromises…
