Coprinopsis nivea Snowy Inkcap
This is the only time I have knowingly seen this species. It was on pony dung. It also occurs on cow dung. This was in an enclosure with an adult pony and donkey. We were warned that they we approaching and being on my knees was no longer a good idea. So I grabbed two images and retreated. I would have like more DOF. I… -
1.2.0 smugmug.albums.getInfo returns undocumented values
I'm working on parsing the 1.2.0 API reply from smugmug.albums.getInfo, the documented return values and the ones I'm actually seeing (for an album I own) are different. I started to update the wiki with what I am actually seeing, but didn't want to jump the gun and end up dorking the doc. Please see my API call reply… -

Re: First shots with new macro lens (56K warning)
Does seem to be rather a nice lens and obviously very sharp. The focus distances are: 1:1 4", 2:1 2.5", 3:1 2", 4:1 1.7", 5:1 1.6". The fly was shot somewhere between 2:1 and 3:1 I think. I just moved in very slowly on it keeping out of the sunlight :)- think it took 3 goes before it sat there without flying off. Brian V. -

Re: Quirk with API - no-show of new albums until clickthrough?
Ok, I've done the analysis, and here is the problem. I added an album called Ttest (yep, I typo'd entering the album name) and uploaded one image. Then, I made a call to getTree (edit: API v1.2.2) with Heavy="1" and got the following entry for 'Ttest': <Album id="6179898" Key="y2XZ8" CanRank="1" Comments="1" Description=""… -
Bonds: no HR, Me: no good pics. HELP!
I'm still struggling with shooting nighttime baseball. I have no choice but to crank the ISO up to 800 which yields ridiculously poor results on my 300D. But even at 800 I'm only shooting between 1/500s-1/800s. Is there any hope?? :dunno This one was taken with the 1.4xTC so granted it's at f/4 (1/800s) and very soft Here… -
New issue with Crop Thumbnail
Not sure when this started happening, but it would be within the last 2-3 weeks (since the last time I uploaded)... Go into Crop Thumbnail and select 1:1 Crop Ratio. Instead of showing the largest 1:1 crop that fits the photo dimensions like it used to, it is extending the height beyond the actual photo size to make it 1:1…
