NASA builds CAMERA GEAR lunar rover.
Well...not exactly. I played McGiver and built a fancy handy dandy dedicated photography equipment cart for carrying my gear on my birding adventures (MI4 too). Chopped, drilled, screwed and tinkered with a standard folding 3 wheel push/pull golf cart. I removed many of the dedicated golf cart/bag components and added some… -
My Trip Down Highway 1 (lots of pictures)
Today I didn't have much to do, so I decided to finally make the trip down Highway 1 that I've been wanting to do for the last year. The weather was perfect, the sky was clear. The only thing that would have made a better trip would be a few clouds in the sky. It was a flat blue, so I focused more on the water and rocks… -

Renewal looms...never got reply to power/watermarking issue
OK so my renewal date is fast approaching (June 23) and it's time to make the decision... Drop to Power as I no longer shoot events as I used to. However, my already posted galleries (with my watermarks) are the issue... When the whole price increase discussion (with plenty of advance notice) came about I wasn't very vocal… -
Pics of youth basketball: What I've learned about sports photography this season
Hi folks! Well, yesterday marked the end of my son's youth basketball season. I thought I'd share what I learned in the process of taking photos of the games this year. I believe we learn just as much by showing the poor shots as the good ones so I hope this is helpful. I started off by reading some tutorials here on… -
Summertime Deer, it's almost here!
Summertime is almost upon us and for several of us that means we are either already booked up, or we are looking for something to do! Summertime last year meant I was looking for something to do that would get me back out of the standard rut I was in with workflow and my style of shooting. I took some advice from that… -
Re: What to Buy? -- Sportraits
Sounds like me a few years back, wanted nothing to do with T&I. I found out if you want to make good money you need to add this work along with action. I just finished two teams this week and will clear a very nice total for roughly 6 hours work. I sell a lot of action shots but I would have to shoot for a long period of… -
It's Time to Evolve
I'm seeing a lot of images posted on Facebook these days like this: (my image, not my usual watermark, just an example) These photographers would be wise to evolve. Some of these watermarks have the copyright symbol or wording like "for use only on (mywebsite).com", etc, and all of them are ugly and obtrusive. Sports… -
Mini #198--Ornamental RESULTS
Mini Challenge #198--Ornamental RESULTS<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Well, there weren't many entries (which made me sad), but I think the images that were posted were all excellent. That kind of made my job harder instead of easier, but I will take… -
Re: question to the Professional photographers
Great question...and not an easy one to answer. Below is a reply that I made on another forum regarding a similar question.... As an artist, we tend to spend a lot of time deciding what to put into our portfolio. Which pieces will buyers like? Which ones do I like? Which ones do I think will be popular? These are all…
