Re: 7 hours and 1/2 processed !
I have had a 64 photo gallery loading since 3pm EST, it's now 1045pm and 47 are processed. The 111 photo gallery I uploaded at 2pm still has 9 to process. I have been telling customers what Smug Status has been telling me, and that is not accurate. I hope that when I wake up in the morning this is resolved. I have a shoot… -
DSS 111 - Rocky Mountain Possibilities
Had one day in Rocky Mountain National Park after this challenge was announced. Finally got a chance to process some of these today. The b/w is my first true panorama - stitched from 5 images. Wish I had more time there, but was grateful for the time I had. Any thoughts on these for the "scapes" challenge? Thanks, Gretchen… -
Mis-Reporting 35mm Equivalent Focal Length
Hi. I'm currently trialling Smugmug, but have noticed an error on my shots. The photo linked below was taken with my Canon EOS1000D, an APS-C format camera, and my 75-300mm lens at full zoom. The 35mm equivalent should therefore be around 480mm, but the photo info tab shows it as 300mm. Am I missing something, or is it a… -
Re: Varsity Football in the dark
Hello Kevin, You are good 1D Mark 111 so I am out of ISO at 6400 ISO that was the best I could and 800 shutter speed. I will need to try the flash I guess just a long way to try to get light. Its dark not like College level here. I noticed that Northern Cal football compared to the South or East the lighting at the high… -
Re: Dancng Mosquitos
Wow! 44 degrees C is 111 degrees F. That is life-threatening for sure without even fans for some relief. I gather that Karachi has a history of water and power problems. I am so sorry for the sick, elderly and very young children, who have no control over their situation. I too like the first photo, and they are called… -
Re: Adjust density first.......
It's on pages 111 and 113 of the CS2 version. "On the vast majority of images, my first edit is to set the Exposure slider so that the highlights are as close as possible to clipping." "If I need to make big Exposure moves, I'll do so before setting white balance, because changes in the Exposure value can have a big effect… -
Re: Why the lens gap?
Samples please. Because this page disagrees: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/ISO-12233-Sample-Crops.aspx?Lens=687&Camera=453&Sample=0&FLI=6&API=2&LensComp=111&CameraComp=453&SampleComp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=1 For sports I am mostly concerned about center sharpness. I'll trade a little softness mid-frame for the… -
Re: Booked my first job (SCCA Race)
Sounds like fun to me. I checked out the link you listed for the club and they do have at least one Photographer. His name is John Kolb and the web site lets viewers rate each photo if they want. There are some photos with 111 views and some with only 3 so, they must have someone trying to take several photos for each race… -
111 - Farmscapes? And a big question....
1. 2. 3. 4. Hi! Welllllll, sooooooo, my understanding is that a "scape" photograph must have strong shapes or lines by definition? Is that correct? We lucked into a draft horse demonstration over the weekend and I tried to shoot a few images with this challenge in mind. It was a gorgeous day and the horses always such a…
